One Piece's next arc is very likely to be Elbaf, the Land of the Giants, and there have been a lot of speculations surrounding how Luffy and Usopp are likely to have major roles to play as well as Nico Robin having a tender moment when she reunites with Saul. In that regard, a user on X named @3SkullJoe came up with the theory that Nami is going to have a significant role, inspired by some events of Norse mythology.
It is worth pointing out that One Piece author Eiichiro Oda has already come up with some elements inspired by Norse mythology, as seen by the Big Mom flashback where she mentions Prince Loki. Therefore, it isn't unlikely that the manga plans to explore a lot more of that in Elbaf, which is directly inspired by Norse myths, and Nami could have a major role to play based on a tale from that culture known as "The fate singers".

A new One Piece theory explains how Nami could have a major role in Elbaf, based on Norse mythology
The Fate singers are also known as the "Norns" in Norse mythology and usually play a role (in these myths and other cultures) in weaving the very fabric of fate through their songs. It is said that the Norns arrived at Jötunheimr, The Land of the Giants, and this led to the beginning of the fall with the Golden Age of the Gods, with this X user pointing out that Eiichiro Oda is aiming to do something similar but targetting the Celestial Dragons instead of deities.
Donquixote Doflamingo, after being defeated in the Dressrosa arc, pointed out how the Celestial Dragons were going to be defeated, which is something that was also reflected by Lady Toki in Wano, whose "songs of fate" can no longer be evaded by these villains. This theory points out that the Fate singers are three ladies in most cases, and Nami could be the next one to weave the destiny of these corrupt individuals.
These myths usually hail from Swedish culture, and Oda already confirmed that Nami would be from that country if she were a part of the real world. Therefore, this theory suggests that she could have a key moment in the arc that highlights the downfall of the Celestial Dragons and the World Government as a whole.
The role of Nami in the series
There is no denying that Nami is one of the most beloved One Piece characters, and she has managed to stay relevant throughout the story in many different ways. While she can't compete on the battlefield with the likes of Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji, her navigating abilities and natural leadership have proven to be key in some dire circumstances.
It is also worth pointing out that Nami has had some major fighting moments in the story where her raw strength wasn't the focus but rather her determination to keep going. That is a major aspect of her character, especially when it comes to how she manages to protect those she cares about.
Final thoughts
This new One Piece theory suggests that Nami is going to have a major role to play in the Elbaf arc because of the aforementioned Norse myths. However, it is also worth pointing out that this is a fan theory and can be easily disproven with the upcoming chapters.
