Sasuke Uchiha from Naruto was one of the few characters who got to experience the power of the Rinnegan. However, despite possessing such an overpowered doujutsu, the Uchiha clan member couldn't utilize it to its maximum extent in the final battle against the protagonist when he had all of the Tailed Beasts under his possession.
Instead of absorbing the Tailed beasts and becoming the Jinchuriki of the Ten-tails, the Uchiha clan member opted to channel the tailed beasts' chakra through his Susanoo, creating a massive attack. If Sasuke had opted for the former, he could have made his 'revolution' possible, which was to change the world and redefine the Kage system.

Naruto: Why Sasuke was ultimately a wasted potential
Sasuke Uchiha was the deuteragonist of Naruto. After returning to the village seeking answers, he was wrapped up in the Fourth Great Ninja War where he accompanied his teammates, Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno, in their aim to defeat Madara Uchiha and Obito from activating the ultimate genjutsu, the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
Unfortunately, both Naruto and the deuteragonist were about to meet their end through Madara's cunning planning, but they were saved through Hagoromo's last-minute entrance. The Sage of the Six Paths was bestowed upon them which gave the protagonist Six Paths' chakra and the deuteragonist the Rinnegan.
Followed by the summoning of Kaguya Otsutsuki, these two utilized their powers to defeat her and return to Earth. However, Sasuke wasn't ready to release the Infinite Tsukuyomi until he took control over the world and sealed the tailed-beasts inside Planetary Devastation. This marked the start of the final battle between the protagonist and deuteragonist which would decide the fate of the world.
In the middle of their fight, Sasuke channeled the chakra of all the Tailed Beasts inside his Susanoo, creating an ultimate attack that could have taken the protagonist. Things didn't go as he had planned and their fight ended in a draw.
However, the situation could have been different if Sasuke had absorbed the Tailed Beasts through the Six Paths Ten-Tails Coffin Seal and had become the new jinchuriki of the Ten-Tails. Not only could he defeat the protagonist this way, but he would have achieved his 'revolution' which was to eliminate conflict between nations, which was based on the Tailed Beasts.
Moreover, being the strongest entity on Earth, he could have prevented future calamities like the raid of the Otsutsuki clan to extract the chakra fruit of Earth. Unfortunately, none of this happened as the deuteragonist's character was left unutilized.
Analysis and final thoughts
Before even considering such theories as potential endings, it is advised to see whether these also sit well with the overall theme of the series. With the entire series showing characters converting to the better side after meeting Naruto, Sasuke's tale with the protagonist was destined to end in a draw.
So, why didn't the deuteragonist utilize the Tailed Beasts the way they should have been? Sasuke's mixed hatred for the Tailed Beasts and the heat of the battle could have prevented him from thinking efficiently, which could be why he didn't utilize the Tailed Beasts in hopes of becoming the Ten-Tails' jinchuriki.
