The Naruto X Sasuke ship had a moment in a couple's wedding recently, which went viral on both TikTok and X because they did the hand sign those two characters did together in author Masashi Kishimoto's manga. It was a great moment for fans of the franchise and is also a celebration of one of the greatest anime duos of all time.

In that regard, there were also several Naruto fans who used this opportunity to talk about the ship involving these two characters. While it is true that Kishimoto never attempted for them to be a couple, there are a lot of fans who claim they would have been a better life partner for one another than the ones they actually got in the manga.

Furthermore, it was also a moment where a lot of fans brought up the years-long relationship between these two characters in the community. There are a lot of fans who still think they would have been a great couple together, although it is worth pointing out that Kishimoto never intended for them to be romantically involved and there are no reports or statements that suggest otherwise.

This last portion refers to the fact that there is a myth in the fandom that Kishimoto wanted them to be together and that idea was rejected by his editors. However, that is false and he never intended for them to be a couple, even if there is some evidence they could have been good together.

It goes without saying that there were a lot of fans who reacted positively to this moment, especially those who are still shipping Naruto X Sasuke to this very day in the fandom.

That is something that has also become a running joke in the fandom because of what a lot of people consider very little chemistry with their partners in the canon manga, Sakura Haruno and Hinata Hyuga. In that regard, this moment by this real-life couple seems to reinforce that idea.

As mentioned earlier, Kishimoto never aimed for them to be a couple but it goes to show that these two characters had a very good chemistry together. And while their friendship had a couple of ups and downs, their nature as direct opposites actually worked in their favor from a thematic perspective.

"Kishimoto would be so happy," someone said.

"Commenting to look back at it once I recreate at my own wedding," another person said.

The Naruto X Sasuke ship has a special place in that series' fandom, even if it was never going to happen. That goes to show how profound and meaningful their friendship was to a lot of people, even if it wasn't romantic in the canon story.
