Brief chapter highlights
Negai no Astro chapter 10 begins with Hibaru, Terasu, and Kuran busy clearing debris caused by the recent meteor strike. This provides Hibaru with an opportunity to exercise and control his powers, though he remains apprehensive about using them to their full extent.
Upon returning to the Yotsurugi Family Headquarters, now also serving as an evacuation center, they are informed by Kinpa that Ginji needs help. Ginji's Astro, Leech Heal, allows him to heal others, but it burns his calories in the process. Having healed several injured civilians, Ginji is now in a zombified state. Hibaru agrees to nurse him back to health.
Next, in Negai no Astro chapter 10, Hibaru and Terasu decide to prepare food for Ginji, leading to a cooking competition with Hibaru and Kinpa on one side and Terasu and Kuran on the other. Hibaru quickly bows out after making a mess, leaving Kinpa to handle the cooking by herself.
Meanwhile Terasu, unaware of Ginji's preferences, focuses on preparing fancy dishes, while his teammate prepares more straightforward items like omurice, hamburger steaks, and meatballs.
Once the meal is ready, Hibaru invites all the civilians at the headquarters to participate in the feast. Meanwhile, Ginji recovers in no time. Amid the festivities, Torazo, the third Yotsurugi sibling, declares Hibaru the winner of the cooking contest, finding Terasu's dishes too sophisticated.
Torazo also expresses his appreciation for Hibaru's efforts in defending the headquarters from Shio. Then he vows to punish Shio, who has been collecting the links of other Astro users to eliminate all threats to his authority. Shio targeted Torazo because he leads the family's second-largest faction.
Torazo cautions Hibaru that his status as Kongo’s legitimate heir makes him one of Shio’s targets. Determined, Hibaru decides to accompany Torazo to Roppongi to face Shio.
Negai no Astro chapter 10 review
Negai no Astro chapter 10 takes a fresh turn from the eerie atmosphere of a haunted house to that of a cooking show. It remains comedic and extremely fun to read. The most interesting development in this installment is the face-off between Hibaru and Shio.
Hibaru's eloquence and formidable strength have secured easy victories for him so far. But this next encounter might not go his way and he will have to undergo some character development to navigate the situation.
Now, it has been confirmed that once links are destroyed, their corresponding Astro can no longer be used. However, this chapter leaves out if obtaining someone else's link will allow the bearer to use their Astro. If this is the case, Shio is undoubtedly a formidable opponent.
Negai no Astro chapter 9 recap
In the previous chapter, Hajime Ikari, one-half of the Ghost Thieves, stumbled upon Terasu's link and decided to keep it. He was joined by Karin Ikari, and they bragged about successfully scaring off Hibaru and his brothers.
However, they were caught off guard by Kinpa and Hibaru. They were confident that the scent of the roses had caused Hibaru to see monsters the last time. To neutralize this, Kuran transformed into a giant fan, which Terasu and Genki used to scatter the rose fragrance.
But, it was revealed that the hallucinations were actually triggered by Karin’s unique perfume and not the roses. Thus, the siblings experienced the monster illusion once more. Simultaneously, Hajime employed his Astro to launch wax attacks.
The Ghost Thieves overlooked the fact that their abilities were ineffective against Kinpa, who became invisible, stole their Astro links, and destroyed them. Thus, the Ghost Thieves could no longer use their powers. Karin did not hesitate to fire multiple shots after that using Genki's gun, but Terasu blocked them with his shield. In the end, Hibaru landed a punch, knocking out both Hajime and Karin.
