Negai no Astro chapter 12 hints at Shio's sinister plan
Brief chapter highlights
In Negai no Astro chapter 12, Torazo single-handedly defeated the members of the Hawk Faction at a checkpoint, using Senei as his weapon. Nono expressed her gratitude to him, as this allowed her to visit her mother in the hospital. Meanwhile, Hibaru asked them to proceed without him.
At Akasaka Hospital, Nono was reunited with her mother, who had been worried sick after hearing from Nono's grandmother that she had disappeared. Despite a missing person report being filed, the police were unable to locate her.
Nono and Torazo quickly became good friends. Nono's mother noticed her daughter's happiness, something she had not seen since her husband's death. Nono, who had been emotionally closed off and had not shed a tear since then, was finally opening up.
Hibaru returned at this point, covered in mud. He had been searching for the four-leaf clover that Nono had given him. Nono wanted to give one to her mother, but without her powers, she could not create four-leaf clovers. This moment, coupled with her mother's reassurance that it is okay to cry when one is happy, led Nono to finally let her tears flow.
Next, in Negai no Astro chapter 12, Torazo received a call from a subordinate, informing him that Shio planned to demolish the Roppongi branch. Shio had sent Kiyochika Gido for this task as part of his mission to eliminate the Torazo Faction and hunt Astros. It appeared that Shio was in search of a certain type of energy although the details were not revealed.
Meanwhile, Gido, using his Astro, created some branches, and in a matter of seconds, the Roppongi branch building was reduced to rubble. Upon hearing this news, Torazo wasted no time and immediately set off for Babel in Nishi-Azabu, the enemy's hideout.
Negai no Astro chapter 12 review
Negai no Astro chapter 12 continues to build its world, which, despite the destruction and lawlessness following the meteor strike, is gradually improving. Several characters, including Kuran, had been forced to toughen up and suppress their emotions due to events such as the loss of loved ones. However, even in this mess, they have been finding ways to express their emotions and experience a sense of relief, much like Nono in this chapter.
However, the series can be criticized for its shallowness in terms of plot and character development. There seems to be no element so far that would make the series stand out. Yet, one can hope that this might change when Hibaru confronts Shio.
It will be interesting if the upcoming chapter goes deeper into Shio’s character motivations. So far, the story has been dominated by the paternal force but Shio’s mother might become a very important character in the series.
Negai no Astro chapter 11 recap
In the previous chapter, Torazo and the Hibaru faction embarked on a journey to Roppongi to punish Shio. Hibaru, who was supposed to keep a watch from the top of Torazo's jeep, fell asleep and fell off the vehicle.
When he woke up, he saw a young girl, Nono, who gifted him a three-leaf clover. Using her Astro, she transformed it into a four-leaf clover.
Nono was telling Hibaru about her mission to visit her mother, when her Astro link, a bookmark, was severed by Senei Kariyazaki. He was an Astro Hunter working for Shio and wielded the power to extend a blade from his fingertip.
When Hibaru's group came looking for him, Senei fled, but they soon spotted him at a checkpoint set up by Shio's Hawk Faction. They were searching everyone for Astros. Torazo stepped out of the car and confronted them. When Senei struck him with his blade, it shattered because of Torazo's naturally thick skin.
