Negative Positive Angler fishing anime announces October 2024 premiere with PV and visual

An original fishing anime, Negative Positive Angler, is set to premiere in October 2024. This news was confirmed by the anime's official staff via a promotional video and visual on Tuesday, July 30, 2024. Studio NUT will be in charge of the series' production. Along with this announcement, the staff revealed details regarding the show's main cast and staff.

Notably, a new website and X (formerly Twitter) account have been opened to share the PV, visual, and other information. As per the website, the series narrative centers around Tsunehiro Sasaki, who only has two years to live. One day, he gets chased by his debt collectors and falls into the sea. However, Hana, a young girl passionate about fishing, rescues him.

Studio NUT's Negative Positive Angler fishing anime debuts in October 2024

On Tuesday, July 30, 2024, the official staff announced the production of the original fishing anime, Negative Positive Angler. Kadokawa streamed a promotional video on its official YouTube channel to confirm that the series will premiere in October 2024, i.e., in Fall 2024.

Simultaneously, a new website and X account were opened to share the PV and a visual with fans. The promotional video captures the serene sight of Tokyo Bay, where Tsunehiro Sasaki, the protagonist, is seen catching various types of fish.

The short clip also features other important characters, joyfully eating fish they have caught. Along with the PV, the staff unveiled a visual for the Negative Positive Angler anime.

The illustration depicts the captivating scenery of the Tokyo Bay coast in twilight, which happens to be the narrative's setting. Additionally, the visual shows the anime's logo and confirms the October 2024 release window.

Mutsuki Iwanaka stars as Tsunehiro Sasaki, the main protagonist. The official staff describes the character as a university student with a gloomy personality. Fairouz Ali voices Hana Ayukawa, a third-year high school student, passionate about fishing. Kaito Ishikawa has also joined the cast as Takaaki Tsutsujimori, a young man who works at Every Mart.

Coming to the staff, Yutaka Uemura directs the series at Studio NUT. The esteemed studio was responsible for the production of the Blue Giant anime movie. Tomohiro Suzuki joins the staff as the scriptwriter and supervisor, while Hiromi Taniguchi is enlisted as the character designer and chief animation director.

As per the anime's site, the story for the Negative Positive Angler anime follows Tsunehiro Sasaki, a university student who has a large debt to pay. Unfortunately, his doctor discloses to him one day that he only has two years left to live.

Dejected, Tsunehiro begins to live the rest of his days in depression. One day, the boy falls into the sea after being chased by the debt collectors. Yet, he is rescued by Hana, and her friends, including Takaaki.

The high-school girl tells Tsunehiro to experience fishing. Things begin to change for the boy, as he starts working at the convenience store, where Takaaki and Hana work. At the same time, he develops a passion for fishing.
