New My Hero Academia movie will focus on a more personal conflict
All Might has been steadily training Deku to be his successor, and Deku himself has repeatedly proven that he is worthy of being the successor to the No. 1 Hero. All Might had been the symbol of peace for numerous years, and the ideals and brand of justice that he popularized, stabilized society to a huge degree.
One of All Might's most prominent hero moments occurred during his fight against All For One in Kamino, where he passed the torch to Izuku after defeating All For One.
All the trailers for the new My Hero Academia movie have indicated that the new villain was inspired by the Kamino Ward fight and took on the appearance of All Might.
Although the reasons behind this appearance are not fully known, it must be the new villain's own perverse interpretation of All Might and his ideology.
Deku, being All Might's proper successor and one of his greatest fans, would surely see the existence of this new villain as a stain on All Might's image and what he stood for.
According to the trailers, Dark Might wants to usher in a new age by destroying the current one and then placing himself as the new symbol of the new age.
The conflict between Deku and Dark Might will be more personal and more intense due to their similar origins. Dark Might, according to the trailer, had his origins in the Kamino Ward fight. This same fight also marked All Might's battle against All For One and his official retirement, passing on the torch to Izuku.
Dark Might's entire existence signifies a perverted interpretation of one of All Might and Deku's most important moments. Deku defeating Dark Might in the new My Hero Academia movie will also signify Deku standing up for his ideals as well as his idols.
Final thoughts
All previous My Hero Academia movies have focused on villains who posed significant threats to the world, sparking conflicts with the main cast.
But the new My Hero Academia movie will apparently focus on a more personal conflict between Deku and Dark Might. The place of this new My Hero Academia movie in the actual canon of the story is still unconfirmed.
