9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime confirms cast, 2025 release, and more

On September 8, 2024, the Japanese visual novel studio, Palette, announced the highly anticipated 9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime key details that fans have been eagerly awaiting. An adaptation of the famous visual novel confirmed its main cast along with a planned release date set for 2025.

The announcement had stirred excitement, as it had fleshed out a star-studded lineup of voice actors for the various beloved characters. As the anime heads into its next year of release, fans should look forward to an immersive experience full of the exciting storytelling and amazing plot twists that made the original work a hit.

Aside from the anime adaptation, the 9-nine- Symphonic Concert 2 with Animation event on Sunday revealed the new 9-nine- spinoff game.

Scheduled in 2025, The 9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime features a returning voice cast from the original visual novel to assure continuity and familiarity with its characters for fans. Misato Fukuen is returning as Miyako Kujō, Atsumi Tanezaki is voicing Sora Niimi, Yuri Yamaoka is voicing Haruma Kōsaka, along Akane Fujita who is returning to voice Noa Yūki.

Satomi Arai is again playing Sophitia and Atsushi Abe is the voice of Kakeru Niimi. Kazutomi Yamamoto plays Yoichi Fukazawa once more while Tomokazu Sugita is returning as Renya Takamine along with Hana Takeda as Satsuki Naruse.

PRA leads the anime under Koichi Ohata, known for Burst Angel and Maken-Ki! Battling Venus. The character designs are by Saori Sakiguchi, known for number24 and Technoroid Overmind. At that, we can expect nothing but a faithful adaptation with an immense sense of style.

9-nine- Ruler's Crown anime takes place in the quiet college town of Shiromitsugawa, a city that has never quite revived, despite its many failed attempts to do so, even going so far as to create an anime based on the local folklore that did not go over well. However, this monotony of existence in this town is shattered when a powerful storm descends and creates a chain of extraordinary events.

In the center of events is Kakeru Niimi, a young man with a strong sense of responsibility, and sometimes saying what he thinks. Kakeru's life starts to change radically when in one accident the sacred relic of the local shrine gets destroyed. In what seems like a minor incident actually awakens superhuman abilities in several young residents of Shiromitsugawa, including Kakeru himself.

As supernatural forces begin manifesting, the town turns into a hunting ground for a superpowered serial killer. Kakeru must find a balance between his mysterious new abilities and the race against time in a desperate bid to stop this killer before he can strike again.
