A Gentle Noble's Vacation Recommendation anime adaptation announced with key visual

Wednesday, October 9, 2024, saw the A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation anime officially announced as in production, also sharing a celebratory key visual. The news was announced via the official X account of Japanese publisher TO Books, who publishes the original light novel series.

The A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation anime will officially adapt author Misaki and illustrator Sando’s original light novel series of the same name. Unfortunately, no other information regarding the television anime adaptation was revealed alongside this initial news. It’s unclear as of this article’s writing exactly when additional information for the series will be shared.

The aforementioned key visual for the A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation anime was shared alongside the post to X, confirming the television anime adaptation for the series. The post also confirmed that the series now has over 1.5 million copies in circulation, also sharing release dates for upcoming volumes. The light novel’s 19th volume and the manga’s 11th volume will be available in Japan from October 15 onwards.

The key visual features protagonist Lizel front and center, as well as supporting characters Gil and Aign alongside him. The trio can be seen walking through what seems to be a city during a windy but beautiful day, with Lizel and Aign smiling as they do so. Gil remains stoic and expressionless despite the other two’s cheerful demeanors.

The A Gentle Noble’s Vacation Recommendation anime will adapt the light novels, which themselves adapt Misaki's original web novel from the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. The web novel began in January 2014, while the light novel began in June 2018 and a manga adaptation began in December 2018. However, the manga credits 8Key for its story composition and Misaki for original character art. All three are still ongoing and regularly serialized/updated today.

The manga adaptation is currently being released in English by Tokyopop, with eight volumes currently available and a ninth coming on October 22, 2024. Tokypop describes the manga’s story as follows:

“When Lizel finds himself in a city that bears odd similarities to his own but clearly isn't, he quickly comes to terms with the unlikely truth: this is an entirely different world. Even so, laid-back Lizel isn't the type to panic. He immediately sets out to learn more about this strange place, and to help him do so, hires a seasoned adventurer named Gil as his tour guide and protector."

It continues:

"Until he's able to find a way home, Lizel figures this is a perfect opportunity to explore a new way of life adventuring as part of a guild. After all, he's sure he'll go home eventually... might as well enjoy the otherworldly vacation for now!”
