A Herbivorous Dragon of 5000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized season 2 is set to premiere on October 2, 2024. This news was confirmed by the donghua's official staff via the main promotional video on Wednesday, September 11, 2024. The short clip has also revealed additional cast and previewed the opening theme song. A new key visual has also been unveiled.

Produced by LAN Studios, A Herbivorous Dragon of 5000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized season 2 is a sequel to the previous season, which aired 12 episodes from July 2022 to October 2022. It's a Chinese donghua, which is based on Kaisei Enomoto's light novel series of the same name.

On Wednesday, September 11, 2024, the official website and X account for A Herbivorous Dragon of 5000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized season 2 shared the main trailer to announce the show's October 2, 2024, release date.

The broadcast information has also arrived, according to which A Herbivorous Dragon of 5000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized season 2 will air its episodes every Wednesday on Tokyo MX, at 25:05 JST, starting October 2, 2024 (effectively Thursday, October 3, 2024, 1:05 am JST), and on BS Fuji channel on October 9, 2024, at 12:30 am JST.

The donghua will be available on d Anime Store prior to its TV broadcast at 11 pm JST, from October 2, 2024. After that, fans can stream the Chinese donghua on other streaming services starting October 5, 2024. Crunchyroll streamed the first season as it aired in Japan.

Notably, the latest trailer showcases Reiko and other important characters who will appear in season 2. The short clip teases the sequel's plot and includes various comedy and action scenes. Additionally, the PV previews the show's opening theme, Brave One, by Fukurow Note.

Besides the trailer, the official staff has unveiled a new key visual for A Herbivorous Dragon of 5000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized season 2. The illustration features the herbivore dragon, Reiko, Rosetta, and Vanessa.

Details regarding the additional cast members have also been released. Haruki Ishiya has joined the Japanese voice cast as Edward. Other new cast members include Chafurin as Pravas and Kohei Amasaki as the Mysterious Man. The donghua stars Houchu Ootsuka as the herbivore dragon, Aoi Yuki as Reiko, Iori Noguchi as Rosetta, and Yui Ishikawa as Vanessa.

LAN Studios, which was in charge of the first season's production, returns in A Herbivorous Dragon of 5000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized season 2. Simweni is credited as the director. He's also the show's composer along with Li Jiajie.

Based on the light novel series, the donghua centers around Reiko, a young girl, who offers herself as a sacrifice to a dragon in exchange for protecting her village from the evil forces of the Demon King.

However, she discovers the 5000-year-old dragon is actually a harmless herbivore beast. A Herbivorous Dragon of 5000 Years Gets Unfairly Villainized season 2 will continue Reiko and the herbivore dragon's adventure in the new setting of the Asuga kingdom.
