A History of the Romelia anime confirmed for production

On Tuesday, September 10, 2024, the official X account for Mag Garden's Magcomi platform announced the production decision for A History of the Romelia anime. However, the staff didn't mention the pertinent details, such as the release date, cast, staff, or the production studio for the project.

Notably, A History of the Romelia anime will be based on Ryo Ariyama (author) and Kodama's (illustrator) A History of the Romelia: Even After Defeating the Demon King, Humanity Seemed to Be in Trouble So We Organized an Army light novel series.

Ryo-san launched the series as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. Later, Shogakukan acquired the rights to publish the series as light novels under its Gagaga Bunko imprint. Mag Garden's MagComi platform serializes the manga adaptation with Kamito's illustrations.

A History of the Romelia anime gets green-lit for production

The official X account for Mag Garden's Mag Comi platform (@MAGCOMI_) tweeted on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, to announce the production of A History of the Romelia anime. The series is based on Ryo Ariyama's historical light novel series of the same name. Gagaga Bunko's official site has also confirmed the news of the adaptation.

However, the staff didn't reveal the exact format for the anime. Additionally, no details regarding the cast, staff, or the production house have been disclosed as of this writing. Fans can expect them to be revealed in the future.

Notably, the Mag Comi platform released the fourth volume of the manga adaptation with Ryo Kamito's illustration on September 10, 2024. On the other hand, the fifth volume of the light novel version is slated to be released on September 18, 2024. Kamito-san confirmed this on their official X account (@kamito_ryo).

Mag Garden is also running a giveaway campaign to celebrate A History of the Romelia anime adaptation. Five people chosen via lottery will receive signed copies of the original light novel and the manga adaptation. Notably, Ryo Ariyama's light novel series has over 400,000 copies in circulation.

While an official synopsis for the historical fantasy anime is yet to be disclosed, the series will follow the narrative written by Ryo Ariyama. The narrative centers around Countess Romelia, who gets rejected by her fiance, Prince Henri, after defeating the Demon King.

Yet, she doesn't get bogged down by the rejection. Romelia returns to her country and rises up against the remnants of the Demon King's forces to bring true peace to her homeland.
