On December 27, 2024, a preview from Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine February 2025 issue revealed that Ao Ashi creator's Fermat's Cuisine manga will receive an anime adaptation.
Fermat's Cuisine, written and illustrated by Yuugi Kobayashi, is a Japanese manga that has been serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine since September 2018. The manga has released four volumes (Japanese and English) and has spawned a live-action series that aired in October 2023.
Fermat's Cuisine anime adaptation announced
Fermat's Cuisine anime adaptation was officially green-lit after the registration of the anime adaptation's official website. The series' official X account (@anime_fermat) was registered in December 2024. The source's author, Yuugi Kobayashi, released a commemorative illustration on this occasion, featuring the series' protagonist Gaku Kitada.
Moreover, the author also shared his thoughts on the recently green-lit anime adaptation. As stated in the comments, the author was filled with gratitude over the recent anime adaptation of his work (the same feeling when Fermat's Cuisine received a live-action). Moreover, the author also wanted fans to feel hungry after watching the anime and opt for midnight snacks.
On Friday, December 27, 2024, Kodansha previewed the magazine cover for the upcoming Monthly Shonen Magazine February issue set to be shipped out on January 6, 2025.

What is Fermat's Cuisine about?
The series follows the story of Gaku Kitada and Kai Asakura. Gaku Kitada was a math genius hoping to become a mathematician, while Kai Asakura was a culinary prodigy serving as the charismatic, enigmatic owner of Restaurant K.

After suffering a setback in his dream, Gaku Kitada ran into Kai Asakura, who noticed Gaku's unique potential in cooking. Hence, Kai Asakura recruited Gaku Kitada to work as a chef at Restaurant K.
While Gaku joined the restaurant in an attempt to try something new, he soon started using his mathematical thoughts to learn more about cooking and develop his recipes. These developments have set up the two young men to revolutionize the world of cooking together.
