Baban Baban Ban Vampire anime’s PV highlights main characters Ranmaru Mori and Rihito Tatsuno
The Baban Baban Ban Vampire anime’s trailer begins with a focus on protagonist Ranmaru Mori as he’s cleaning a spa area. He then begins dancing until being approached by Rihito Tatsuno. It’s then revealed that Mori, a vampire, has an amicable relationship with Rihito and his family, but desires to drink the blood of an 18-year-old virgin.
Having already been close to Rihito, he decides to ensure the young boy doesn’t lose his virginity before he turns 18 so he can drink Rihito’s blood specifically. However, this becomes much more difficult after Rihito meets Aoi Shinozuka by chance, slowly falling in love with her as a result. The trailer ends with this central trio confronting each other in a room, where Mori seemingly reveals his true identity as a vampire to both.
The new cast members include Mayuko Kazama as Aoi Shinozuka and Taku Yashiro as Ken Shinozuka, also known as Franken. The pair join starring cast members Daisuke Namikawa as Ranmaru Mori and Yusuke Kobayashi as Rihito Tatsuno. The key visual features these four characters, with Mori and Rihito holding cleaning supplies, as well as two others whose names and voice actors haven’t been revealed yet.
Itsuro Kawasaki is directing the anime and writing its scripts at studio GAINA. Takahiro Tamano is the assistant director, while Yukiko Ban serves as both chief animation director and character designer. Sunsuke Masuda and Satoru Kiyomaru are also chief animation directors, while Jun Ichikawa of Julydex is composing the series’ music.
The BL manga, which in this case stands for “Bloody Love Comedy” according to the series, focuses on Ranmaru, a 450-year-old vampire working part-time at a public bath. Rihito is the son of the bathhouse owners, whom Ranmaru watches over in order to fulfill his desire to drink an 18-year-old virgin’s blood.
Author and illustrator Hiromasa Okujima’s original manga series began serialization in Akita Shoten’s Bessatsu Shonen Champion magazine in October 2021. The manga is still ongoing today and has been collected into seven compilation volumes, none of which have been officially released in English.
