The new trailer for the BanG Dream! Ave Mujica anime series begins by focusing on its central characters as they each adorn lace masks. The screen then cuts to black before fading back in on the group performing what seems to be rock music at a live concert. This then transitions into quick shots showing their daily lives and struggles before ending shortly thereafter.
As mentioned above, the anime is confirmed for a Thursday, January 2, 2024, release date in Japan. The anime will first premiere on Tokyo MX at 11 pm JST. The time slots for the other networks mentioned above haven’t been revealed, but the website claims the episode will air on these other networks sometime on Thursday.
The anime’s official website lacks both domestic and international streaming information as of this article’s writing. However, the series is slated for a simultaneous global debut on Sunday, December 1, 2024. The anime will air both in Tokyo and at Anime Festival Asia in Singapore simultaneously on this day.
The television anime series will serve as a sequel to the 2023 television anime series, BanG Dream! It’s MyGo!!!!! The series premiered in Japan on Tokyo MX and anime streaming platform ABEMA with its first three episodes in June 2023. The series aired weekly afterward, with Crunchyroll streaming the anime internationally as it aired. Likewise, it’s expected (but not confirmed) that Crunchyroll will also stream the sequel series.
Koudai Kakimoto returned to the franchise to direct the upcoming series at SANZIGEN studios, with Yuniko Ayana supervising and writing the series scripts. The anime’s opening theme song is Hitoshizuku, while the ending theme song is Shiori, which translates to Bookmark. MyGO!!!!! Will perform both theme songs.
In addition to the upcoming BanG Dream! Ave Mujica anime, the series also has a compilation film upcoming titled Utau, Bokura ni Nareru Uta, which translates to Sing, the Song That Can Define Us. The compilation film is set to open in Japanese theaters starting on Friday, November 8, 2024.
