Warner Bros. Japan unveils Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League key visual and first PV
On July 5, Warner Bros. Japan held a stage event at Anime Expo 2024 in the United States, during which the company unveiled the key visual and first promotional video for the original anime film Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League.
Created by Takashi Okazaki, the character designer for the anime film, the visual features Batman forming a hand seal, Wonder Woman with an eagle tattoo holding a katana in her hand, The Flash wearing a traditional Japanese straw hat, Aquaman wearing a fisherman-like twisted headband, and Green Lantern in a Japanese kimono garment with a Japanese lantern.
As evident from the key visual, the 'Yakuza League' mentioned in the movie's title refers to the Justice League, who have seemingly gone rogue and turned themselves into the Yakuza. Fortunately, for fans who wish to look at the characters' designs individually, Warner Bros. Japan has also released their individual character visuals.
In addition to the visuals, Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League also released its first promotional video with a runtime of 30 seconds.
As per the promotional video, the ninja (Batman Ninja), who battled Feudal Japan, has returned once again to a world unlike any other. The trailer showed a portal seemingly transporting Batman and Robin to another era.
As Batman and Robin flew in the Batplane, Green Lantern (Jessica Cruz) could be seen attacking them. Right after, the promotional video gave fans a quick glimpse of possible first encounters with other former superheroes: Aquaman, The Flash, and Wonder Woman.
Lastly, upon seeing how the Justice League members had strayed off the path of justice in that era, Robin labeled the former Justice League as the "Yakuza League." Batman did not like this observation and called it a bad joke.
