On October 5, 2024, the official Aniplex YouTube channel revealed the 20th Anniversary promotional video for Bleach which aired 20 years ago on the same date. The promotional video showed some of the most iconic scenes from Ichigo's journey in a new animation style.
Bleach is based on the manga series written by Tite Kubo. The manga series received its first anime adaptation on October 5, 2004, and completed its airing with 366 episodes on March 27, 2012. The series received a sequel on October 11, 2022, which was divided into four parts and its third part is airing in the current Fall 2024 Anime Season.

The promotional video commenced with a countdown back to the airing date of the first episode (October 5, 2004) and showed the scene where Ichigo met Rukia in a new animation style (similar to TYBW). The video commenced with Ichigo taking care of some past regrets and his introduction to the Soul Society.
The video also showcased scenes from the Soul Society arc, where Ichigo crossed swords with Kenpachi Zaraki and Byakuya Kuchiki. It then entered the Hueco Mundo arc, where Ichigo crossed swords with Grimmjow and also fought Aizen Sousuke.
The final part of the video showed Ichigo's transition from a human to a Soul Reaper to a Hollow to his current form. The video ended by crediting the staff members who animated the anime series with pictures of the series' villains like Yhwach, Aizen Sousuke, and many others.
The series was animated by Studio Pierrot which is famous for animating other series like Naruto, Black Clover, Akudama Drive, and many others. The same studio is animating the sequel to the series, titled, Thousand Year Blood War, which is divided into four parts. The first episode of the third part of this sequel premiered on October 5, 2024
Bleach synopsis
The series is a Shounen anime centered around a high school boy named Ichigo Kurosaki whose normal life is one day invaded by a Hollow, a corrupt creature born from a human soul that devours other human souls. Fortunately, a mysterious girl named Rukia saved Ichigo's family from the Hollow but she got injured and was unable to fight the Hollow.
So, upon her request, Ichigo accepted her powers, became a Soul Reaper, and defeated the Hollow. Unfortunately, after everything settled down, Rukia couldn't regain her powers and was forced to stay with Ichigo, during which Ichigo was assigned to take care of Hollows in the human world. However, things change quickly as Hollows aren't the only beasts endangering human life.
