Attack on Titan Final Part has been surpassed by Bleach TYBW cour 3 as the highest-rated anime in IMDb history. This is right after the finale of this third part of author Tite Kubo's series, which ended with the cliffhanger of the main cast heading to their respective final battles against Yhwach and the Quincy at Wahrwelt.
While the Attack on Titan Final Part release was a massive occasion in and out of itself, Bleach TYBW cour 3 has managed to surpass a lot of people's expectations because of the additional content and how it gives this arc a much better structure. On the other hand, the comeback of one of anime's most popular series in the last few decades continues to be one of the most prominent trends in the industry.

There was a confirmation this weekend that Bleach TYBW cour 3 managed to overcome Attack on Titan Final Part as the highest-rated anime in the review website for series and films, IMDb. All but one of the fourteen episodes of this Studio Pierrot production were rated above 9 points out of 10, as of this writing, with only the sixth one having an 8.5 score.
It gave author Tite Kubo's series an average of 9.3/10 rating when compared to the 9.27/10 that Hajime Isayama's story got in 2023. Attack on Titan Final Part had a lot of build-up for the anime finale, with Studio MAPPA constantly releasing just installments instead of the entirety of the season, which helped to create hype for the project.
On the other hand, Bleach TYBW has been a massive comeback for the franchise, especially after years of being divisive to a lot of anime fans. Moreover, the addition of new material, penned by Kubo himself, has given these cours a sense of excitement since people don't know what to expect in this adaptation.
The high points of Bleach TYBW cour 3
Leaving aside overcoming Attack on Titan Final Part, one of the many virtues of Bleach TYBW cour 3 was living up to the expectations of several popular moments in the manga, such as Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Nemu's fight with Pernida or Kyoraku Shunsui's Bankai against Lille Barro. Moreover, the combat between Jugram Haschwalth and Bazz-B also had the element of their past, which Studio Pierrot directed quite well.
Then there are new inclusions to the lore and the story, such as Uryu Ishida's grandfather explaining Yhwach's corruption or the truth about the Quincy King's motivation coupled with the identity of the Soul King. Several characters got more time to shine, such as Uryu and Renji Abarai, as well as adding much better pacing to an arc that needed it.
