Saturday, December 21, 2024, saw the staff for Blue Exorcist season 4 part 2 announce the upcoming cour’s official release date of Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 12:30 am Japanese Standard Time (JST). The upcoming second part, fully titled Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga, will continue the story from where the first cour, fully titled Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga, ended.
Alongside the announcement of Blue Exorcist season 4 part 2’s official release date, a new key visual for the upcoming part was shared, featuring the series’ central cast of characters. Notably, the Jump Festa 2025 Red Stage for the series unveiled the first PV for the Blue Night Saga and revealed details regarding the theme songs.
Blue Exorcist season 4 part 2 confirms key info for final half of fourth season
As mentioned above, Blue Exorcist season 4 part 2 officially premieres on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 12:30 am JST. The series will air simultaneously on Tokyo MX, BS11, Gunma Television, and Tochigi Television at this time. The series will then broadcast on additional channels at later dates and times, including Tokai Television, MBS, Hokkaido Cultural Broadcasting, and RKB Mainichi Broadcasting.
The anime’s official website also confirmed domestic streaming availability in Japan. Most major domestic platforms will see the series become available at 1 am JST on Sunday, January 5, 2025, while others will instead begin streaming the series at 12 pm on Tuesday, January 7.
It is unconfirmed but expected that Crunchyroll will stream Blue Exorcist season 4 part 2 internationally with English subtitles as it airs weekly in Japan, as it did for the fourth season’s first part.
Moreover, the RED Stage at Jump Festa 2025 unveiled a promotional video for Blue Exorcist season 4 part 2, titled The Blue Night Saga. The short clip revealed and previewed the sequel's opening theme, Tsukaku (Sense of Pain) by Amazarashi, and the ending theme, Overlap, by Shiyui.
New cast members for Blue Exorcist season 4 part 2 have also been announced. According to the video, Daisuke Namikawa has joined the voice cast as the young version of Shiro Fujimoto, while Miyu Irino voices Rick Lincoln. The other cast member is Ryo Hirohashi, who voices Jenny Kal. The main cast is set to return in the sequel.
Notable returning staff members for the fourth season overall include director Daisuke Yoshida, scriptwriter Toshiya Ono, character designer and chief animation director Yurie Oohigashi, and composers Kohta Yamamoto and Hiroyuki Sawano. The fourth season also featured a primarily returning cast from prior installments.
The series serves as the television anime adaptation of Mangaka Kazue Kato’s original series of the same name. The manga began serialization in Shueisha’s Jump Square magazine, where it is still ongoing today. However, the series is currently on a hiatus which began on September 4, 2024. The hiatus is due to Kato’s need for postoperative treatment and recovery following an unexpected diagnosis. The manga has no return date set as of this article’s writing.
