On Monday, June 24, 2024, the official website of the anime unveiled that Blue Lock season 2 is set to be released on Saturday, October 5, 2024. The anime also revealed its episode count and additional cast members for new characters Oliver Aiku and Sendou Shuto.

The anime's first season ended with the Second Selection Arc. Right after, the title set up the match between Blue Lock Eleven and the Japan U-20 team. Hence, the installment is set to adapt the Third Selection Arc. This story arc focuses on Ego Jinpachi picking the starting lineup for the upcoming match.

Blue Lock season 2 set to release in October 2024

On Monday, June 24, the official X account of the Blue Lock anime announced that Blue Lock season 2 will begin premiering on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 11:30 JST pm on the newly established TV Asahi nationwide network anime slot "IMAnimation."

The anime will premiere a total of 14 episodes, unlike its previous season, which had 24 episodes. This suggests that the title will likely release its episodes until January 4, 2024, or beyond, depending on any possible breaks.

As for the additional cast members, they are set to voice the Japan U-20 players - Oliver Aiku and Sendou Shuto. With the announcement, the anime also unveiled the character designs for the two characters in their official kits.

Satoshi Hino is set to voice Oliver Aiku, the captain of the U-20 Japan National Team. He is labeled the "Diamond Generation" for his ironclad defensive ability and abundant talent. He plays as a center-back and is said to be in a key position to lead the next generation of the Japan national team.

Satoshi Hino has previously voiced Daichi Sawamura in Haikyuu!!, Gauche Adlai in Black Clover, Momonga in Overlord, and Kyojuro Rengoku in Demon Slayer.

Joining him is Akihisa Wakayama, who is set to voice Sendou Shuto. The character is the ace of the U-20 Japan National Team and used to be a regular forward in Japan's domestic first division. Additionally, he has scored the most goals within his team, helping him win his teammates' trust.

Akihisa Wakayama has previously voiced Regis K. Landegre in Noblesse, Ryuuji Kanzaki in Classroom of the Elite, and Shounen Sekkou in Goblin Slayer.
