Blue Lock season 2 releases key visual and reveals title
The key visual released for Blue Lock season 2 features the main protagonist, Isagi Yoichi, the Itoshi brothers, Sae and Rin, and Oliver Aiku inside the stadium where the sequel will take place. The sequel series will be divided into 14 episodes. The anime is set to be released on October 5, 2024.
The title of the sequel would be Blue Lock vs U-20 Japan. This indicates that the sequel series will adapt the U-20 arc which consists of 42 chapters. As the prequel adapted more than 100 chapters in 24 episodes, adapting 42 chapters in 14 episodes might not be that hard considering how fluent the media is when adapted into an anime.
Other than this, 4 other visuals were also revealed which feature the Top 11 of the Blue Lock, who were selected after the Third Selection Arc, in their U-20 jerseys. Other than Gagamaru's goalkeeper jersey, every other player has the same blue-colored jersey.
The entire voice casting from the prequel will be returning to voice their characters. The newly added voice casting includes Oliver Aiku voiced by Satoshi Hino (Rengoku from Demon Slayer), Hiyori Yo voiced by Eiji Mikami, Nijiro Nanase voiced by Kakeru Hatano, and Shuto Sendou voiced by Akihisa Wakayama (Ryuji from Classroom of the Elite).
