On Monday, November 18, 2024, the official website of the Naruto franchise released the second sneak peek preview for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 16. The preview illustration depicts an exchange between Shikamaru Nara and Eida.
The previous chapter revealed what happened in the Village Hidden in the Sand. Gaara was sealed away while Shinki was turned into a sentient God Tree. The manga later saw Boruto inform Kawaki about Amado's modifications to his body. The manga ended with the two teaming up to take down their common enemy, the sentient God Trees.

On November 18, the official website of the Naruto franchise unveiled the second preview illustration for the upcoming Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 16. The manga is set to be released on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Shueisha's V Jump January Special Issue.
The manga's previous chapter saw Shikamaru Nara learn from Kankuro what happened to Gaara and Shinki. Right after, he told Sarada and Sumire to inform him about any contact with Boruto. This was a sign to the two girls that the Hokage had some trust in him. Just then, Kashin Koji's frog approached Shikamaru from beneath his desk.
Elsewhere, Kawaki met up with Boruto. During their exchange, Boruto informed Kawaki about how he once used Karma and felt like he was losing control over his body to Momoshiki Otsutsuki. In addition, Kawaki also informed him about Amado's modifications to his body. With that, the two karma users decided to team up to take down the sentient God Trees together.
Fortunately, with the release of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex chapter 16 second sneak peek, fans have an idea of how the developments will affect the plot. With Kawaki having agreed to cooperate with Boruto, it seems like Eida will try to convince Shikamaru to trust the duo to do as they please to take down the sentient God Trees.
However, Shikamaru Nara is seemingly more concerned about something else. He was sure that Boruto had a mysterious ally. Apparently, the frog that appeared in his office talked to him. With that, he was basically certain that Boruto's mysterious ally was Kashin Koji. He just wanted to confirm the same from Eida. Nevertheless, it is to be seen what the interim Hokage plans on doing with this information.
