On Thursday, November 14, 2024, the official website of the Naruto franchise released the first sneak peek preview for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 16. The preview illustration depicts an exchange between Konohamaru and Team Shinki members Yodo and Araya.
The previous chapter revealed what happened to Gaara and Shinki in Sunagakure. While Gaara was sealed away, Shinki was bitten by a Claw Grime, manifesting a God Tree version of him. The manga later saw Boruto and Kawaki team up to take down their common enemy.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 16 sneak peek suggests a Konoha-Suna Joint Mission

On November 14, the official website of the Naruto franchise unveiled the preview illustration for the upcoming Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 16. The manga is set to be released on Thursday, November 21, 2024, in Shueisha's V Jump January Special Issue.
The manga's previous chapter revealed what happened in the Sunagakure. Matsuri had invaded the Village Hidden in the Sand with her Claw Grimes after following the trail of Boruto's accomplices. During this, Gaara and Team Shinki faced off against her.
Matsuri was prepared to let go of Team Shinki if she could take down Gaara. The Kazekage complied with this to keep the Shinobi safe. However, Shinki could not allow this to happen. Hence, he sealed away Gaara to prevent his death. Unfortunately, during this, he was bitten by a Claw Grime, causing him to turn into a God Tree.
With Kankuro informing Shikamaru Nara about these events, it seems like the interim Hokage is finally set to take action in the upcoming chapter. This has been hinted at by the latest sneak peek preview illustration.
As hinted at by the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex Chapter 16 sneak peek preview, it seems like Konohamaru will be sent to the Land of the Wind to assist the Village Hidden in the Sand with the entire sentient God Tree fiasco. That said, it cannot be confirmed if Konohamaru will head to the village alone or if he will be joined by his team members, namely Sarada Uchiha, Mitsuki, and Kawaki.
Nevertheless, the Konoha Shinobi are set to meet up with the remnants of Team Shinki - Yodo and Araya somewhere in the Land of the Wind. From there, the Suna Shinobi could escort the Konoha Shinobi to the location where Gaara was sealed and Shinki was turned into a God Tree.
