The Bungo Stray Dogs series is getting a spin-off manga
It was recently announced that this series will get a spin-off manga titled STORM BRINGER and will come out in the upcoming issue of Shonen Ace on January 24 of the next year. As mentioned earlier, there is no confirmation on how long this series will be.
Hoshikawa Shiwasu is going to be the mangaka in charge of this project and already has experience with the franchise, having penned the BEAST and DAZAI spin-off series. Moreover, this author also has projects of his own, such as Helvetica and Yoru ni Naru to Boku wa, both of them being shonen manga series.
As per the reports of this news, this series is based on the light novel of the same name and takes place one year after Chuuya Nakahara joined the Port Mafia. However, this time, he has to team up with a European detective to deal with the mystery of the "King of Assassins," who also claims to be Chuuya's older brother.
What is the series about?
The series unfolds in a reality where some individuals have animalistic supernatural powers, much like Nakajima. The first instance showcasing his power involves saving a deep-diving Dazai, almost drowning himself. When Dazai met Nakajima, Nakajima was kicked out of his shelter life and was living by himself. Dazai was fascinated by him and his skills.
On this note, the manga author reinforces that the main character came to be a part of the Armed Detective Agency, where other people have supernatural powers similar to Nakajima but are not regular people. They are agents combating high-end threats that regular police cannot. This is how the main character, along with the rest of his agency, has to contend with many challenges during the course of the series.
