With Shueisha's MANGA Plus updating its rankings on its website, Chainsaw Man manga has been ranked first ahead of Jujutsu Kaisen, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, and One Piece manga. This was surprising because Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man manga is on a one-week break.
While it was truly an impressive feat that Chainsaw Man surpassed other weekly serialized manga like Jujutsu Kaisen and One Piece in the rankings, Boruto fans weren't having it as the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga series is serialized monthly and not weekly.
Chainsaw Man trumps Jujutsu Kaisen, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, One Piece, and others
As per the new rankings posted by the official website of Shueisha's MANGA Plus, Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man manga is the most-read manga right now with over 391,000 views.
In comparison, Gege Akutami's Jujutsu Kaisen has over 360,000 views, Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto's Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has over 340,000 views, and Eiichiro Oda's One Piece has over 315,000 views.
Considering that Chainsaw Man manga is on a one-week break, it is impressive that it managed to rank higher than other weekly manga series like Jujutsu Kaisen, One Piece and even My Hero Academia.
However, the same logic should not be applied to Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga as it is a monthly manga that released its previous chapter nearly two weeks ago. Nevertheless, Chainsaw Man fans took the opportunity to belittle the V Jump manga series, and as expected, Boruto fans aren't having it.
How fans reacted to the latest MANGA Plus rankings
Upon seeing the comments made by CSM fans, Boruto fans were quick to notify them that the Masashi Kishimoto manga was a monthly series and its latest chapter was released two weeks ago. Hence, it was bound to have low viewership.
"Boruto is a monthly manga, chapter was released like 2 weeks ago, and English is not the only language, it’s still at 1st place," one fan said.
"Select all languages bro," another added.
Moreover, the Tatsuki Fujimoto manga was only ranked first in English. As for Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, it was ranked first worldwide.
Other fans also addressed the accusations that Boruto fans used bots to inflate their reader numbers. The fans in question had no proof about the use of bots, yet made such claims.
“Boruto bots. Sad cope," another fan said.
"Yuji domain and still not top spot is crazyyyyyy. I wonder if it’s partly because so many people read leaks and not the official releases," other fan said.
As for other fans, they were left shocked to see that Jujutsu Kaisen was not in the top spot. This is because the latest manga chapter saw series protagonist Yuji Itadori use his Domain Expansion for the first time. This was a long-awaited moment, hence it made no sense that the series wasn't ranked first.
The fans deduced that the manga lost its number of total views because people read the manga through spoilers and leaks, and not the official releases.
