Classroom of the Elite season 4 will cover the first semester from the Year-2 light novels
On Sunday, September 1, 2024, the official staff held the MF Bunko J Summer School Festival 2024 livestream. During the event, the staff unveiled a teaser visual and announced the production of Classroom of the Elite season 4.
According to the announcement, the fourth season will commence with the Year 2 (First Semester) arc from Syogo Kinugasa's Classroom of the Elite: Year 2 sequel light novels. In other words, the series will cover volumes 1 through 4.5, out of the 12.5 released ones. A release date hasn't been revealed as of this writing.
The teaser visual released for Classroom of the Elite season 4 features Kiyotaka Ayanokoji in his second year, with the new first-year students in school uniform. The visual also has a catchphrase in Japanese, which reads as follows when translated into English:
"Among them is an assassin from the White Room, who is after Ayanokoji."
Notably, the staff didn't reveal the pertinent details concerning the sequel, such as the cast, main staff, or the production studio. Since Studio Lerche produced the previous season, it remains to be whether the same studio returns in Classroom of the Elite season 4.
The previous installment starred Shoya Chiba as Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, Akari Kito as Suzune Horikita, Ayana Taketatsu as Kei Karuizawa, Nao Toyama as Honami Ichonose, Rina Hidaka as Arisu Sakayanagi, Maasaki Mizunaka as Kakeru Ryuuen, Toshiki Iwasawa as Rokusuke Koenji, Yurika Kubo as Kikyo, and others.
Hiroyuki Hashimoto and Seiji Kishi were the chief directors for season 3, while Yoshihito Nishoji directed the series at Studio Lerche. Hayato Kazano was in charge of the series composition, with Morita Kazuaki as the character designer. Crunchyroll streams season 1-3 for global fans.
Seven Seas Entertainment publishes the Classroom of the Elite: Year 2 sequel light novels in English, and it describes the story as follows:
"As Ayanokoji and his classmates begin their second year at the Advanced Nurturing High School, they're greeted by a fresh gauntlet of exams and a fresh batch of rather unique first-year students.
It continues:
"They'll have to get to know each others quickly, because the first special exam pairs the first-years with the second-years on a written test- with only the second-years facing expulsion if their team performs poorly! Worse yet? It seems one of the new first-years is also from the white room."
As such, the upcoming season will see if Ayanokoji can avoid expulsion while unraveling the identity of the hidden enemy.
