On Thursday, December 26, 2024, the February issue of Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine revealed that Classroom of the Elite Year 2 manga will start serializing its second stage on January 27, 2025. This new manga will be drawn by Hachi Komada.
Classroom of the Elite, written by Shougo Kinugasa with illustrations by Shunsaku Tomose, is a Japanese light novel series published in Media Factory's MF Bunko J imprint. The series has received a manga and an anime adaptation. Xia Sasane illustrated the manga until the end of Year 2 1st stage, while Lerche is producing the anime and has announced its fourth season.
Classroom of the Elite Year 2 2nd Stage to be drawn by new mangaka
On Thursday, December 26, 2024, Kadokawa's Monthly Comic Alive magazine February issue revealed that the 2nd stage of Classroom of the Elite Year 2 manga will start serializing on Monday, January 27, 2025, in the magazine's March issue. The magazine also released the final chapter of Classroom of the Elite Year 2 1st Stage in the February issue.
As for the upcoming manga, it will be illustrated by a new manga artist, Hachi Komada. The manga adaptation was started by Yuyu Ichino in January 2016. This was followed by the sequel manga series illustrated by Xia Sasane, which began serialization in December 2021.
After a three-year serialization, Xia Sasane will be handing over the series' responsibility to Hachi Komada. Hachi Komada has previously created Sawatte Aishite manga and provided illustrations for light novels like Aishu Zenchaku, Saraware Otome no Aisarekon, Kuro no Koutei to Muku na Hanayome, and others.
As for the fourth volume of Sasane's manga, Kadokawa will be publishing it on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
What is Classroom of the Elite about?
The light novel series follows the story of Kiyotaka Ayanokouji, a boy admitted to Year 1 Class D of the prestigious Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School. He is determined to rise up the ladder to Class A. Hence, he teams up with his classmate Suzune Horikita and others, hoping to collect enough points to work their way up to their collective goal.
However, the light novel series does not stop by depicting the cutthroat competition between the different classes but also explores Ayanokouji's mysterious past in the White Room.
