Clevatess anime announces 2025 premiere and additional cast with new visual

On Thursday, November 28, 2024, the official website and X account for the Clevatess anime shared a new visual and confirmed the anime's 2025 release window. Along with this announcement, the staff revealed an additional cast member for the series.

Fully titled Clevatess - The King of Magical Beasts, the Baby, and the Corpse Hero, the anime is based on Yuji Iwahara's eponymous dark fantasy manga series. LINE Digital Frontier's LINE manga app has been serializing the manga since August 2020. Lay-duce Studios is in charge of the anime adaptation.

Clevatess anime set to premiere in 2025

The official staff shared a new key visual on Thursday, November 28, 2024, and announced that the Clevatess anime will be released in 2025. However, the staff hasn't specified an exact release date as of this writing.

The latest key visual features Clen, Alicia, and the baby Luna, with the collapsed castle ruins in the background. Notably, Saya Aizawa has joined the voice cast as Luna. The anime's official website and X account have shared a comment from Saya Aizawa, where the voice actor revealed how excited she is to perform Luna's role.

She added that it was difficult to decide on the direction of her performance while consulting with the anime's director. Aizawa-san revealed it was necessary to fine-tune her role to fit the brutal and realistic world and retain the cuteness. She has urged fans to look forward to the anime's broadcast.

The anime stars Haruka Shiraishi as Alicia, Yuichi Nakamura as Clevatess, and Mutsumi Tamura as Clen. More cast members will be revealed sooner rather than later.

Kiyotaka Taguchi directs the Clevatess anime at Studio Lay-duce, with Keigo Koyanagi supervising the scripts. Souichiro Sako, noted for his contribution to Buddy Daddies and Magi: Adventure of Sinbad anime, is credited as the character designer. Nobuaki Nobusawa has joined the staff as the music composer.

The plot of the Clevatess anime

Based on Yuji Iwahara's manga, the dark fantasy anime follows Alicia, one of the 13 heroes chosen by the King to slay the King of the Magical Beasts, Clevatess. Wielding legendary swords, the heroes embark on their mission.

However, their heroic attempt brings chaos to the realm. With humanity on the brink of extinction, the world's only hope lies in Luna, a baby entrusted to the King of the Magical Beasts. In other words, the anime will revolve around Alicia, Clevatess, and Luna in a dark and gritty plot.
