Tuesday, July 2, 2024, saw the official X account for Crunchyroll confirm the release of a Tower of God season 2 sneak peek before the season’s official premiere this weekend. Per the post, the sneak peek is set to begin streaming on Crunchyroll’s official YouTube channel on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at 10 am Pacific Standard Time (PST).

The post from Crunchyroll doesn’t offer any new information on Tower of God season 2, but it does offer some new artwork featuring the central characters of the story. This includes new characters Jangnan Wa and Yeon Yihwa, who are front and center alongside the red-haired girl who rescued protagonist Bam at the end of the first season’s events.

Unfortunately, Crunchyroll’s post didn’t elaborate on what the sneak peek would show in any way, shape, or form, leaving its contents completely ambiguous as of this article’s writing. It’s equally difficult to discern options for what the sneak peek could focus on, but a few “right” choices stand out as good middle ground between revealing too much and not enough.

One major possibility is the introduction of Wangnan Ja, who will serve as a deuteragonist for the events of the second season overall and its protagonist for the opening episodes. In turn, the sneak peek could instead focus on the return of protagonist Bam, likewise introducing the new form fans will see Bam take for a majority of the season’s events.

The sneak peek could also have the second season’s overarching narrative in mind, cutting together clips from several episodes to introduce the story early. After all, with how conclusive the end of the first season was, fans have essentially no information about where the story is headed next. This applies not just to Bam himself, but also Khun Aguero Agnes, who has since presumably begun climbing the tower with his and Bam’s allies in between seasons.

While this is all speculative, fans will at least have little to no time to wait before finding out for sure what the sneak peek will show them on Wednesday, July 3. Whatever it is, fans can expect it to set the stage for the second season’s premiere, either by nature of plot reveal, tone, or some other means.

Tower of God season 2 serves as the continuation of the television anime adaptation of author and illustrator SIU’s original manhwa of the same name. The anime’s first season was released in April 2020 as a part of the Crunchyroll Originals lineup adapting several other webtoons. SIU’s webtoon has been serialized since June 2010 and currently numbers 616 chapters in total.
