Monday, August 19, 2024 saw the Dandadan anime series officially confirm its exact October 2024 release date, having only shared the release month for the anime previously. The news also officially confirms the ending theme song info for the series, as well as previews the opening theme song in a new promotional video for the series.

The Dandadan anime’s latest promotional video also featured plenty of new footage from the anime series, specifically highlighting the action fans can expect in the first season. This batch of news also marks the first since the anime series was leaked earlier this month, which Netflix has since confirmed was the fault of one of their production partners.

Dandadan anime reveals October 4 premiere date following recent leaks of anime’s first few episodes

As mentioned above, the Dandadan anime has now officially confirmed its release date of Friday, October 4, 2024 at 1 a.m. Japanese Standard Time.

For most of the world, it will translate to a release sometime on the day of Thursday, October 3 instead. The official English X (formerly Twitter) account for the series has also confirmed that worldwide streaming on Netflix and Crunchyroll will begin at this time.

In Japan, the anime will premiere on TBS and MBS’ Super Animeism TURBO programming block. Whereas Crunchyroll and Netflix have licensed the series for global streaming, GKIDS has acquired the theatrical, videogram and digital transaction rights. These theatrical rights mainly concern the DAN DA DAN: First Encounter theatrical screening of the anime’s first three episodes.

The film cut of the anime’s opening installments will begin with limited-time screenings in Asia on August 31, in Europe on September 7, and in North America on September 13-15.

These screenings will expand to over 50 countries and regions total, including Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and Africa, throughout mid-September. The opening theme will be “Otonoke” by hip-hop duo Creepy Nuts, while ZUTOMAYO performs the ending theme song “TAIDADA.”

The anime stars Shion Wakayama as Momo Ayase, Natsuki Hanae as Okarun, Mayumi Tanaka as Turbo-Granny, Kazuya Nakai as Alien Serpo, Nana Mizuki as Seiko, Ayane Sakura as Aira Shiratori and Kaito Ishikawa as Jiji (Jin Enjoji). The English dub of the anime will premiere at Anime NYC on August 24, with dub stars Abby Trott as Momo and A.J. Beckles as Okarun in attendance.

Fuga Yamashiro is directing the anime series at Science SARU studios, with Hiroshi Seko supervising and writing the series scripts. Composer kensuke ushio is scoring the music, while Naoyuki Onda is designing the characters, and Yoshimichi Kameda is designing the aliens and supernatural entities specifically.

The Dandadan anime serves as the official adaptation of Yukinobu Tatsu’s original manga series of the same name.
