Danmachi season 5 announces October 2024 release date and more with new PV and visual

The short clip confirmed the sequel's release date and revealed details regarding the additional cast members and theme songs.

Danmachi season 5 or Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? season 5 is a sequel to the previous installment, which aired from January 2023 to March 2023. The series serves as an adaptation of Fujino Omori (author) and Suzuhito Yasuda's (illustrator) fantasy light novel series.

Danmachi season 5 new trailer confirms the October 5, 2024 release date

On Saturday, August 10, 2024, the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for Danmachi season 5, (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? season 5) shared a new promotional video and key visual to announce that the sequel's October 5, 2024, release date.

The short video was uploaded by Warners Brothers on its official YouTube channel. The PV features the protagonist Bell Cranel, and other important characters. According to the short video, the anime will cover the Goddess of Fertility arc from Fujino Omori's light novel series.

The clip features the epic scenes from the light novel in animated form, hyping up the sequel's release. Moreover, the video reveals and previews season 5's opening and ending theme songs. GRe4N BOYS performs the opening theme, Shonen, while Sajou no Hana sings the ending theme, titled Hydrate.

Besides the promotional video, the staff has unveiled a new key visual for the upcoming season. The illustration depicts Bell, Freya, and Hestia, and builds intrigue for the Goddess of Fertility Arc.

Along with this announcement, the broadcast details have arrived, according to which, Danmachi season 5 will air its episodes every Saturday at 12:30 AM JST on Tokyo MX, BS11, and ABEMA, starting October 5, 2024 (stylized as October 4, 2024, 24:30 JST).

The anime will also air on AT-X every Monday from 9 pm JST starting October 7, 2024. Japanese fans can enjoy the repeat broadcasts every Wednesday from 9 PM JST and every Friday from 3 pm JST. On the other hand, fans from the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, and New Zealand can stream the episodes of Danmachi season 5 on HIDIVE.

Ahead of the broadcast, the anime will hold a selection broadcast on Tokyo MX and BS11 channels on September 13, 20, and 27, showcasing the episodes and scenes that fans voted for. Moreover, an advance screening of episodes 1 and 2 will be held at Shinjuku on September 16, 2024.

The event will grace Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (voices Bell), Shizuka Ishigami (voices Syr), and Nobunaga Shimazaki (voices Hedin), who will talk about the franchise and their involvement in it.

Cast and staff for Danmachi season 5

The official staff for Danmachi season 5 has added two voice actors to the cast. Ikumi Hasegawa stars as Heith Velvet, while Gen Sato plays the role of Van. Other voice actors include Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Bell, Shizuka Ishigami as Syr, Inori Minase as Hestia, Maaya Uchida as Liliruca, Yoshimasa Hosoya as Weif, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Hedin, and others.

The fantasy anime features returning staff members, with Hideki Tachibana reprising his role as the director at J.C. Staff, with Hideki Shirane and Fujino Omori working on the series composition. Shigeki Kimoto returns as the character designer, while Keiji Inai composes the series' music.

Considering season 4 converted Fujino Omori's light novels up to volume 14, Danmachi season 5 (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? season 5) will pick up the adaptation from volume 15. As such, the upcoming sequel will cover The Goddess of Fertility Arc from the light novels.
