Friday, November 8, 2024, saw the anime streaming platform HIDIVE announce the English dub cast and release date for the Danmachi season 5 television anime series. Per HIDIVE’s latest announcement, the English dub for the season is set to begin streaming on the platform on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at 12 pm EST.

The long-awaited news for Danmachi season 5 comes just over a month after the fifth season’s premiere on Tokyo MX, BS11, and ABEMA on Friday, October 4, 2024. As of this article’s writing, no other dub languages have been announced for the anime’s fifth season. If any are coming, HIDIVE will likely announce them at a later date.


Danmachi season 5 English dub features a large cast with many returning members

As mentioned above, the Danmachi season 5 English dub has been announced for a premiere in November 2024 with a primarily returning cast. Kyle Jones is directing the dub, with no other English dub staff announced at this time. The returning cast includes the following:

  • Kyle Colby Jones as Hogni
  • Molly Searcy as Horn
  • James Marler as Gulliver Brothers
  • Elissa Cuellar as Daphne Lauros
  • Alicia Beard as Cassandra Ilion
  • Brenda Valdivia as Mia Grand
  • Genevieve Simmons as Ryu Lion
  • Carolyn Medrano as Anya Fromel

It’s presumed that this is the full cast list for the English dub of the beloved television anime series’ fifth season. The general series is streaming on HIDIVE in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Returning staff for the fifth season includes director Hideki Tachibana at J.C. Staff Studios, series composition writers Fujino Omori and Hideki Shirane, character designer Shigeki Kimoto, and composer Keiji Inai.

Also returning is production company EGG FIRM, art director Yuki Kobayashi, background artist Jeong Ryeon Ki (joined by Akirz Suzuki), color designer Tomomi Ando, sound director Jin Aketagawa, editor Kentaro Tsubone, and director of photography Shingo Fukuyo. Vocal group GRe4N BOYZ performs the opening theme song Shonen, which translates to “Youth,” while sajou no hana performs the ending theme song Hydrate.

Season 5 serves as the continuation of the television anime adaptation of author Fujino Omori and illustrator Suzuhito Yasuda’s original light novel series. The series’ full title is Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?, and it began serialization in January 2013. The light novels are still ongoing, as is Kunieda and Yamachi Taisei’s manga adaptation of the series which launched in August 2013.
