Thursday, September 12, 2024, saw the official website for the Delico’s Nursery anime series reveal that the series’ second half would begin airing in Japan on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. The anime’s return will start with the seventh episode and continue onward but will be preceded by reruns of the season’s first half in the coming weeks.

The Delico’s Nursey anime’s second half will continue streaming on Crunchyroll as it airs weekly in Japan as a part of the platform’s Summer 2024 broadcast season lineup. The reason for the manga’s continuation beyond the Summer 2024 broadcast season stems from a delayed debut to August 7 from its originally planned July 2024 release date.

The Delico’s Nursery anime will conclude roughly halfway through the Fall 2024 broadcast season

As mentioned above, the Delico’s Nursery anime will return on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, with the release of episode 7, marking the start of its second half. The sixth episode aired on Wednesday, September 11. A rerun of the fourth episode will be broadcast on September 18, followed by a rerun of the fifth on September 25, and a rerun of the sixth on October 2. A compilation of the first six episodes will air on October 9 to lead directly into the anime’s return.

As of this article’s writing, no specific reason has been given as to why the anime series is taking a roughly one-month break prior to its conclusion. However, it likely has to do with the aforementioned original production delay from July to August 2024. This seems especially likely since the anime’s second part is merely just the continuation of its first and only season thus far; hence the anime is returning with episode 7 instead of season 2 episode 1.

Hiroshi Nishikori is directing the Delico’s Nursery anime at J.C. Staff studios, with Kenichi Suemitsu in charge of the scripts and series composition. Suemitsu is also credited for the original work, with the series adapting his 2009 TRUMP stage play. Yoko Ito serves as chief animation director and is also designing the characters based on Koya’s original designs.

Shunsuke Wada is composing the music, with Mika Nakashima performing the opening theme song Unfair, and the ending theme song Prayer by Anonymouz. Suemitsu’s original stage play opened in Japan in 2009 and has since inspired other plays, short stories, and concerts. Seumitsu and Hamaguri debuted a manga based on the play in Kadokawa’s Young Ace magazine in November 2020, which ended in its fifth volume.

Hamaguri was planning to launch a prequel manga series titled Cocoon in Spring 2024, but this was delayed due to their poor health. However, the manga did end up launching in the 2024 calendar year, releasing its first issue earlier this month on Wednesday, September 4.
