On July 2, 2024, Demon Lord 2099 anime released the third key visual on the series' official website. The series also confirmed the artists of the theme songs and its release window in October 2024.
The anime will be based on a light novel series written by Daigo Murasaki and illustrated by Kureta. The light novel started its serialization in January 2021. The light novel has also received two manga adaptations.
The first one was illustrated by Kiiro Akashiro, which was serialized from November 2021 to June 2022. The second one, illustrated by Yutaka Sakurai, started in March 2023.
