On July 7, 2024, Crunchyroll announced the release window of Demon Lord, Retry! R as that of October 2024, alongside a promotional video and a key visual. Crunchyroll also announced that it will be streaming the sequel when it airs. The anime is based on a light novel series written by Kurone Kanzaki and illustrated by Kouji Ogata.

The sequel Demon Lord, Retry! R will be changing sources to a web manga series written by a different author, Amaru Minotake. The anime started airing in the Summer Anime Season of 2019 and was animated by animation studio EKACHI EPILKA. The sequel will be changing to the animation studio Gekkou.

The promotional video started with a focus on Hakuto, the protagonist, before he was reincarnated into the other world. He was sitting on his computer until the room exploded, which was the reincarnation point for Hakuto.

The video then shifted to the next world where some cuts from the sequel were showcased of the protagonist exploring the new world. The video then showed the other main characters, Aku and Luna, and some supporting characters. The video ended with the showcasing of a mysterious purple-haired character.

The anime is based on a light novel series, of the same name, written by Kurone Kanzaki and illustrated by Kouji Ogata (illustrator for the Bogiepop Series). This sequel (Demon Lord, Retry! Ri) will be changing the source to a web manga series, which is the continuation of the light novel.

The voice casting for some characters of the series will change in the sequel. The main protagonists like Hakuto Kunai will be voiced by Kenjiro Tsuda (Nanami from Jujutsu Kaisen), Aku by Momo Asakura (Ayumi from Charlotte), and Luna by Aina Suzuki (Jashin from Jashin's Dropkick).

The other characters like Zero Kirisame will be voiced by Kentarou Kumagai (Laois from Delicious in Dungeon), Organ by Mirai Tachibana, Isami Tahara by Wataru Kamada (Hiroshi from The Fruits Basket Remake), and Mink by Minori Suzuki (the heteromorph woman).

Demon Lord, Retry! R is an isekai-themed series that would continue the adventures of Hakuto in the fantasy world he was transported into. After clearing the dungeon and defeating the monsters that inhabited it, Hakuto's group is now on their journey toward Hellion Territory, a place where Grand Devils live.

Moreover, Hakuto's group has now grown with the addition of Akane Fujisaki. Her main characteristic is her optimistic demeanor which sometimes gets on the nerves of others. With the party of Hakuto now growing bigger, it remains to be seen what adventures await him in this fantasy world.
