On January 12, 2025, the Dorohedoro sequel received its first update in almost a year with the release of a new teaser visual and confirmation of its release in 2025. The teaser also confirmed the return of the prequel's director for season 2.

Dorohedoro sequel set to be released in 2025
The teaser visual for the Dorohedoro sequel featured different animation panels scattered around the series title. These panels are presumably from the sequel, as they were featured in the teaser. Additionally, the visual confirmed that the series is set to air in 2025, although no specific release date has been announced as of this article's publication.
Moreover, the teaser visual announced the return of the prequel's animation studio, MAPPA (known for Jujutsu Kaisen), and director Yuuichirou Hayashi (who directed Attack on Titan Final Season Final Chapters) for the Dorohedoro sequel.
The author of the series' source, the manga series, is Q Hayashida, who is famous for writing dark fantasy manga series (with a hint of comedy). In addition to Dorohedoro, the author is famous for Dai Dark. Dorohedoro season 1 aired in January 2020 during the Winter 2020 Anime Season.
The series features a talented voice cast, including Kaiman voiced by Wataru Takagi (Bellamy from One Piece), Nakaidou by Reina Kondou (Sakura from Horimiya), Shin by Yoshimasa Hosoya (Reiner Braun from Attack on Titan), and Noi by Yuu Kobayashi (Charlotte from Black Clover).
Other than the returning director for the Dorohedoro sequel, some other staff members for season 1 included R.O.N (music composer for Ninja Kamui) as the music composer, Tomohiro Kishi (character designer for 91 Days) as the character designer, and Q Hayashida (the series' author) as the principal artist.
