Studio Bind's Flower and Asura anime adaptation confirmed to premiere in 2025

A website and X account were opened on Wednesday, June 12, 2024, to announce that Flower and Asura anime, based on Ayano Takada's manga series, will receive an anime adaptation in 2025. Studio Bind, the studio behind the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation anime, is in charge of the show's production.

Aside from the adaptation's announcement, the official staff has unveiled a teaser visual for the Flower and Asura anime. The illustration features the main characters, Hana Haruyama, and Mizuki Usurai, happily running along a scenic seaside road, with cherry blossoms falling around.

Hana and Mizuki are seen wearing their school uniform. Interestingly, the visual has a catchphrase in Japanese, that reads as follows, when translated into English:

"I was attracted to that voice."

The voice actors for the main cast have also been revealed. Minori Fujidera, who is relatively new to the industry, voices Hana Haruyama, while Miyuri Shimabukuro plays Mizuki Usurai's role. Comments from the voice actors have arrived on the anime's website and X account.

Minori-san says she is honored to be involved in the franchise. Since she's currently a high school student, she can relate to various things written in the original work.

Likewise, Miyuri-san has applauded the realism of the script. She wants to face her past, believing it will act as a fertilizer for her as a voice actress in this series. Both voice actors look forward to playing their respective roles in the Flower and Asura anime.

Notably, the illustrator for the original manga series, Musshu, has shared a celebratory illustration to commemorate the adaptation. The drawn visual features Hana and Mizuki, smiling together, with the cherry blossoms around them.

Musshu-san has shared a comment, where he says that he looks forward to experiencing a new world through the anime. Similarly, the author of the original manga, Ayano Takeda has commented on the anime adaptation.

The Sound! Euphonium author says that since the manga is about a broadcasting club, it must be difficult for the voice actors to perform. Nevertheless, he looks forward to hearing the readings in the anime.

Staff and the plot for Flower and Asura anime

Ayumu Uwano, who previously worked as an episode director for the Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation season 2, and Tsukimichi -Moonlit Fantasy anime, is at the helm of affairs for the Flower and Asura anime at Studio Bind. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is enlisted as the script supervisor, while Kou Aine designs the characters.

Based on Ayano-san's manga series, the narrative for the anime is set on a small island called Tonakishima, with a population of only 600. It follows Hana, a high school girl, who loves recitals so much that she holds regular reading sessions for the island's children.

Mizuki Usurai, the president of the Broadcasting Club, observes Hana's talent to attract people through her reading. As such, she invites her to join the club, which she accepts. This slice-of-life anime explores Hana's experience as a broadcaster.
