Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga goes on a break after Chapter 140
On Wednesday, December 25, 2024, Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday released Chapter 140 of Kanehito Yamada and Tsukasa Abe's melancholic fantasy manga series, Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga, on the magazine's combined 4/5 issue for 2025.
At the end of the chapter, it was mentioned that Frieren: Beyond Journey's End manga would go on an indefinite break. Previously, the manga went on a 2-week hiatus in late November, only to return in Weekly Shonen Sunday's 2/3 issue for 2025, on December 11, 2024.
Prior to that, the series went on a longer hiatus on May 15, 2024. The series eventually returned on August 7, 2024. Additionally, the manga went on a break in January 2023 and returned to the magazine in March 2023.
Although the series is in a weekly magazine, it has followed a bi-weekly format for a while. As such, it remains to be seen when the fantasy manga returns from the latest break.

Moreover, the manga has over 20 million copies in circulation, almost double before its anime adaptation. Notably, Madhouse produced the fantasy anime, which premiered on September 29, 2024, with a special two-hour length episode on Nippon TV's Friday Anime Night programming slot.
On September 28, 2024, the official staff announced a sequel under Madhouse's production, with a teaser PV and visual. The news was revealed at the anime's first-anniversary event at TOHO Cinemas. However, no information on the sequel's release date has been given.
