The Fureru anime movie, which was already confirmed to be released this fall, has revealed its release date, which is October 4, 2024. It is also worth pointing out that CloverWorks, the studio known for Fairy Tail, Spy X Family, and Bocchi the Rock, will head its production and animation while featuring the same creative staff of the 2011 cult classic anime, Anohana.
This means that Tatsuyuki Nagai and Masayoshi Tanaka, two of the driving forces of the Anohana series, will be in charge of direction and character designs in the Fureru anime movie, respectively. It is to be noted that Mari Okada will write the script now that she has finished her work with Maboroshi, meaning it will be the same creative team as the aforementioned A-1 Pictures production.

The creative staff of Anohana has teamed up once again for the upcoming Fureru anime movie
The official social media accounts of the Fureru anime movie have released a new trailer for the production, which also confirmed that it is due to come out on October 4, 2024. It also confirmed the collaboration with studio CloverWorks, mostly known for Fairy Tail, Spy X Family, and many more.
Some of the most prominent voice cast members of the production include the likes of Aki Onoda, Ryo Sobue, and Yuta Inohara. As mentioned earlier, it also features the creative team of the Anohana anime series, reuniting to work together, thus having Tatsuyuki Nagai as the director, Masayoshi Tanaka as the character designer, and Mari Okada in charge of the script.
The premise of the movie
The Fureru anime movie is centered around a group of three childhood friends connecting through a mysterious hedgehog creature, thus leading to many adventures together. It's through this mysterious creature that they begin to explore the bonds they have with one another and why it works that way.
The concept of the Fureru anime movie is somewhat similar to the one the creative team did on Anohana, which focused on a group of kids losing a friend and one of them seeing her ghost. That series revolved around fulfilling that little girl's final wish, thus celebrating how friendships and bonds can never be broken even after death.
