Gorilla no Kami anime announced for 2025

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024 (which happens to be World Gorilla Day), Kadokawa confirmed the production of Gorilla no Kami anime. According to the announcement, the series will premiere in 2025. However, no details regarding the anime's cast, staff, or production house have been revealed.

Fully titled Gorilla no Kami Kara Kago Sareta Reijo was Oritsu Kishidan de Kawaiigareru, the anime is based on Mika Kamisu's manga adaptation of Shirohi's Japanese web novel series.

Shiroshi-san launched the novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in August 2020. Kadokawa Shoten has been serializing a manga adaptation with Mika Kamisu's art on the ComicWalker manga site since August 2021. Five tankobon volumes have been released thus far.

Gorilla no Kami anime to premiere in 2025

On Tuesday, September 24, 2024 (World Gorilla Day), Kadokawa announced the production of Gorilla no Kami anime, based on Mika Kamisu's manga adaptation of Shirohi-san's fantasy web novel series. The anime will be released in 2025. However, an exact release date is yet to be disclosed.

The official staff has opened a new website and X (formerly Twitter) handle to share the anime adaptation's announcement with fans. Moreover, the congratulatory comments from the original author, Shirohi, and the manga adaptation's illustrator, Mika Kamisu, have been shared.

Shirohi-san thought it would be impossible to turn the plot into a book. However, they are glad their work received a manga adaptation and eventually an anime. The author also acknowledged Mika Kamisu's contribution to the manga version. Moreover, Shirohi-san has thanked every fan who reads their work. They hoped fans would enjoy the charm of the "strong and kind" Gorillas in the anime.

Likewise, Mika Kamisu is honored and excited to witness the work of getting an anime adaptation. Mika-san can't wait to see the exploits of Sophia and others, who have been given life by the vibrant staff and cast members. Along with the comment, Mika Kamisu shared an illustration to commemorate the anime's production.

Although an official synopsis for the Gorilla no Kami anime hasn't been shared, the series will likely follow the narrative written by Shirohi. The "Gorilla Romantic Comedy" is set in a fantasy world, where human beings are blessed by animal gods when they turn 16.

Sophia Lila, a timid countess, turns 16 and gets blessed by none other than the Gorilla God, who is said to be the most powerful animal god in combat. While Sophia wants to lead a peaceful life, others chase her for her immense power. Eventually, the royal knights scout Sophia, who becomes the strongest girl.
