On Friday, June 14, 2024, Arc System Works announced the production of the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers, a television anime, inspired by the company's Guilty Gear fighting video game series. The video game company also revealed that SANZIGEN studios will be in charge of the anime's production.

Along with this information, the staff unveiled a teaser visual, featuring familiar characters from the original video game. More details regarding the anime will be revealed at the Anime EXPO 2024 on July 5, 2024. Besides that, the main staff for the anime has been disclosed.


Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime's visual features Sol Badguy and Sin Kiske from the video game series

The official website for Arc System Works unveiled a teaser visual on Friday, June 14, 2024, to announce the production of the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime. The video game company's Guilty Gear Strive fighting game series has inspired this television anime.

Along with this announcement, a new website and X (formerly Twitter) account for the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime have been opened, where the staff shared the teaser visual with fans. The illustration features Sol Badguy and Sin Kiske, the two most iconic characters from the original video game series.

Sol is known as the main protagonist of the Guilty Gear series, while Sin Kiske is the son of Sol's eternal rival, Ky Kiske. According to the narrative, Sol Badguy raised Sin, who works alongside him as a bounty hunter.

Besides them, the visual features a mysterious female character in the background, suggesting a new story, that follows from the latest game in the series, titled Guilty Gear-Strive.

The main staff for the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime has also been revealed. Shigeru Morikawa, known for his contributions to the D4DJ First Mix, D4DJ All Mix, and other titles, is at the helm of affairs for this anime at SANZIGEN Studios.

Norimitsu Kaiho, renowned for working on School-Live!, Astra Los in Space, and others, is enlisted as the script supervisor. Seiji Mizushima has also joined the staff as the associate producer. More details regarding the anime's cast and staff will be revealed later.

The official staff has also disclosed that the Guilty Gear Strive: Dual Rulers anime series will have a panel at the Anime EXPO 2024, held in Los Angeles, USA, from July 4, 2024.

Director Kaiho, associate producer Mizushima, and the producer of the Guilty Gear-Strive video game, Miyauchi Ken, will appear at the stage event. Fans can expect more information about the series to be revealed there.


Additional information about the original game

Arc System Work, Capcom, and others released the original Guilty Gear video game on PlayStation on May 14, 1998. The game garnered game for its fast-paced action, and complex in-game mechanics.

Additionally, players enjoyed the heavy metal soundtracks the game offered. Guilty Gear Strive is the latest game of the franchise, which was released in June 2021. The game launched its season 3 DLC pack in August 2023.
