Monday, November 18, 2024, saw the official website for the television series Haigakura anime announce that the rest of its season 1 episodes would be indefinitely delayed. This will start with the eighth episode, with the seventh episode airing on Monday the 18th just before this announcement.

While the anime’s new episodes are on an indefinite hiatus, the anime will instead begin rebroadcasting the first six episodes weekly starting in next week’s timeslot. As of this article’s writing, no broadcast and/or streaming dates for the anime’s eighth episode have been decided on or revealed to fans.

Haigakura anime calls it quits for the rest of Fall 2024 due to concerns regarding the overall quality

Per the official website for the Haigakura anime series, the delay is being implemented after staff decided that more time is needed to maintain the series’ quality. While no specific reasoning beyond this was given, it can be inferred that some important scenes were coming up that caused the issue. More likely than not, the production committee’s choices were to either put out a subpar product or take a delay to ensure a proper adaptation.

Although there is no return date for the rest of the anime’s first season, rebroadcasting the first six episodes confirms that it will not return for the Fall 2024 season. This would put the anime’s earliest return as sometime in the Winter 2025 season. If the series does return during Winter 2025, it will likely return in the second half of the season. However, a Spring 2025 return seems more likely to give the production committee as much time as it needs.

In any case, this is purely speculative, with no rumors or confirmed official news regarding when the anime will return being available as of this article’s writing. This information will likely come sometime after the anime’s first six episodes are broadcast once again to close out the Fall 2024 anime season. While possible that this news comes earlier, it seems unlikely given what fans know of the delay, and the choice to rebroadcast the first six episodes.

The Haigakura anime serves as a television anime adaptation of Mangaka Shinobu Takayama’s original manga series of the same name. The anime premiered on Monday, October 7, 2024, at 10 PM Japanese Standard Time on Tokyo MX. The series also airs on several other Japanese broadcast television stations at later times.

Junichi Yamamoto is directing the anime at Typhoon Graphics, with Yu Murai in charge of the series scripts. Masaki Sati is designing the characters, with Yuki Kurihara composing the music for the series. MADKID is performing the opening theme song “Chaser,” with Hikaru Makishima performing the ending theme song “Phoenix.”
