On Friday, November 8, 2024, Shogakukan announced the production of Hotel Inhumans anime, based on Ao Tajima's manga series of the same name, along with a visual. According to the announcement, the series will premiere in 2025. Details regarding the anime's main staff have also been revealed.
Ao Tajima launched the manga series on Shogakukan's Sunday Webry website in June 2021. Since then, the company has collected the manga's individual chapters into eight tankobon volumes. The ninth volume is slated for release on November 19, 2024.
Hotel Inhumans anime set to premiere in 2025
On Friday, November 8, 2024, the official website of Shogakukan's Sunday Webry magazine shared a visual confirming that Hotel Inhumans anime, based on Ao Tajima's manga series, will premiere in 2025. Simultaneously, the staff launched a new website and X account to share the visual with fans.
The illustration features Sara, one of the hotel concierges, holding a gun and waiting for guests in the lounge. Aside from Sara's elegant ensemble, the visual depicts the hotel's luxurious interior. It also includes a catchphrase in Japan that reads "Welcome to the hotel exclusively for assassins" in English.
Additionally, the anime's official staff shared a celebratory visual and comment from the original author, Ao Tajima. The illustration shows Sara and Ikuro celebrating the anime adaptation's news together. Ao Tajima's comment in Japanese, when translated into English, reads:
"'Hotel Inhumans' is going to be made into an anime! I've been in such a state of shock since I first heard about it that I thought it was a dreak. As the original author and as one of the viewers, I'm very happy that there's so much to look forward to in the future. I hope you'll enjoy the story of Sara and Ikuo, who talk and move in a world of color and sound, and the assassins together with me."
Tetsuro Amino, known for his work on Shiki, Macross 7, and other anime, directs Hotel Inhumans anime at Bridge studio, with Shoji Yonemura supervising the series scripts. Shingo Fujisaki, who recently worked in Let This Grieving Soul Retire, has joined the main staff as the character designer.
About the anime
Based on Ao Tajima's manga, the narrative for Hotel Inhumans anime is set in a luxurious hotel exclusively for assassins. The story centers on the hotel's two concierges, Sara and Ikuo, and depicts their one-off encounters with the assassin customers.
Sara and Ikuo never reject their customers' requests and always respond to their wishes on the border of death. As such, the anime will explore a dark world, covered by the luxuries of a fine hotel.
