Hunter x Hunter manga will return in October 2024 as per sources. The manga will be returning after extremely long and frequent breaks that were taken to improve the author’s health conditions. The manga will return by publishing a chapter on October 7, 2024, which will be a part of issue #45 of the Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine.

Hunter x Hunter manga is written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. The series’ publication began way back in March 1998. Since then it has released a total of 400 chapters over the span of a decade and a half.

As stated earlier, Hunter x Hunter manga will be releasing a chapter on October 7, 2024. During a Shonen Jump livestream, an announcement video was released by the publishers, which comprised manga illustrations of various characters in the story. Toward the end of the video, an announcement was made that stated the release date as well as the issue of Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine which will feature the chapter.

This video highlighted popular characters like Killua, Gon Freecss, Neferpitou and many more. The reason for the frequent and long breaks was due to the Togashi’s health conditions. The Hunter x Hunter manga author suffers from debilitating back problems which forced him to take these breaks.

Fans were quite happy with the author prioritizing his health, especially in the wake-up of Kentaro Miura’s unfortunate passing. The latter’s death highlighted the hazards that are prominent in this line of work. While there are no statements on the author’s health at the moment, this is certainly a positive sign. The manga’s return also means that there are plenty of chapters in the pipeline.

More importantly, the manga’s return could also imply an improvement in Yoshihiro Togashi’s health. Currently, the Hunter x Hunter manga is in the Succession Contest arc. Chapter 400 of the series was released back in 2022. The manga is returning after two years with the release of chapter 401, which will continue the aforementioned story arc.

The story revolves around Gon Freecss, who is a hunter. This is a title given to a select few who have passed a deadly exam with a dangerously low success rate. He set out on a quest to know more about his father and along the way, he made friends. They are Killua Zoldyck, Kurapika, and Leorio Paladiknight. They set out on their quests in an attempt to achieve their personal goals while defying all odds that are pitted against them.
