I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire anime is set to premiere in April 2025. This was confirmed during the 5th Overlap Bunko All-Star Roundup Special live-stream event on Sunday, October 20, 2024, with a promotional video and teaser visual. The main cast and staff for the show have been announced, along with the release window.

I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire anime is based on the light novel series by author Yomu Mishima and illustrator Nadare Takamine. Mishima launched the story originally on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website. After that, Overlap acquired the rights and published the first volume in July 2020. The fantasy light novel also has a manga adaptation with Juu Ishiguchi's art.

On Sunday, October 20, 2024, the official staff held the 5th Overlap Bunko All-Star Roundup special program. During the livestream event, the staff announced the production of I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire anime with a promotional video and teaser visual.

According to the announcement, I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire anime will be broadcast on the "ANiMAZiNG!!!" programming slot on 24 ABC TV and TV Asahi affiliated channels in Japan, starting April 2025. An exact release date is yet to be revealed.

The official trailer features Liam, the protagonist, engaged in an intergalactic war against his enemies. The short clip highlights the mecha anime's animation quality and gives fans a glimpse of what to expect. Liam's tragic backstory is also teased in the PV. The trailer also features Amagi, an AI maid robot, and the Guide.

Along with the promotional video, the official staff has unveiled a teaser visual for I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire anime. The illustration depicts Liam, his mobile knight, and Amagi, the AI Maid Robot.


Cast, staff, and the plot of I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire

The main cast has been revealed. Natsuki Hanae voices the protagonist, Liam Serra Banfield, while Reina Ueda voices Amagi. Takehito Koyasu joins them as the voice actor of Guide. The anime's newly opened website and X account have also shared comments from the voice actors, where they expressed their delight in performing their respective roles.

Tetsuya Yanagisawa directs the space-themed anime at Quad Studios, with Katsuhiko Takayama as the series composer and scriptwriter. Kazuya Morimae is credited as the chief animation director. He's also one of the character designers, along with Ayako Karatani, Keita Hagio and Masahiko Suzuki.

Masahiro Yamane, Yasuhiro Moriki, Tsukasa Kotobuki, and Kazuma Akagi are in charge of the mechanical designs. Yusuke Seo and Shun Narita are composing the series music, with Ryosuke Naya as the sound director.

Based on Yomu Mishima's light novel, I'm the Heroic Knight of an Intergalactic Empire anime follows Liam, who lived as a mortal and responsible person in his past life. However, his wife betrayed him, and he died deep in debt.

Interestingly, he is reborn into a ruling family of a huge intergalactic empire. Reflecting on his past life, in which he was robbed of everything due to his kindness, Liam aspires to be a tyrant. However, for some reason, his tyrannic decisions lead to peace and prosperity, and he becomes more and more popular.
