Saturday, November 23, 2024 saw the I May Be a Guild Receptionist anime begin streaming its second promotional video, which also revealed its January 11, 2025 release date and more. The promotional video focused primarily on introducing its titular receptionist protagonist, but also revealed and previewed both the opening and ending theme songs for the series. It also introduced supporting characters who seem set to be central figures in the story.
The I May Be a Guild Receptionist anime will adapt author Mato Kousaka and illustrator Gaou’s original light novel series. The light novel’s full title is I May Be a Guild Receptionist, But I’ll Solo Any Boss to Clock Out on Time. Crunchyroll has already confirmed that it will stream the television anime adaptation internationally in several key regions.
I May Be a Guild Receptionist anime premieres on Friday, January 11, 2025 in Japan
The I May Be a Guild Receptionist anime is set to officially premiere on Friday, January 11, 2025 at 12AM Japanese Standard Time (JST). The series will first air on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, and BS11, before later airing on Asahi Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) TV, TV Aichi, and AT-X. The anime was originally slated to premiere in 2024, but was later delayed for unspecified reasons.
An advance screening will be held at Tokyo’s Shinjuku Wald 9 theater on December 17 with the cast in attendance. The anime’s opening theme is titled “Perfect Day,” and will be performed by singer 310. The ending theme is titled “Ashita no Watashi ni Sachi Are,” which translates to “May the Future Me Be Happy,” performed by Akari Nanawo. The ending song can be heard playing first in the above trailer for the series.
Rie Takahashi will voice protagonist Aline Clover, with Kentaru Kumagai voicing Jade Scrade. Other cast members include Aoi Koga as Lululee Ashford, Rikuya Yasuda as Lowe Losblender, and Yu Serizawa as Laila. Tsuyoshi Nagasawa is directing the anime at CloverWorks studios, with Misuzu Chiba in charge of series scripts. Yoshihiro Nagata and Shinichi Machida are designing the characters, with Sakura Create credited for animation production cooperation.
Crunchyroll has confirmed that it will stream the anime in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, and CIS. The original light novel began in March 2021, and is still ongoing today. A manga adaptation from artist Suzu Yuki began in June 2021 and is also ongoing. Yen Press releases both the manga and light novels in English, describing the story as follows:
“Alina Clover signed up to be a receptionist for the Adventurers Guild thinking it would be her ticket to the good life. Unfortunately, her dream gig turns into an overtime nightmare whenever adventurers get stuck clearing a dungeon. To save herself from paperwork, Alina takes to beating down monsters herself to solve the problem! Now she just needs to keep her activities a secret…”
