I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime is set to premiere on January 5, 2024. This was confirmed by the anime's official staff via the main promotional video on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The short clip also revealed additional cast and the details regarding the theme songs and their artists. A new key visual has also been unveiled.
Produced by EMT Squared, I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime is based on author Izumi Sawano and illustrator Miru Yumesaki's slapstick love comedy light novel series of the same name. Shufu to Seikatsu Sha serialized the light novels from April 2019 to March 2020, publishing two volumes. The series also has an ongoing manga adaptation with Uri Sugeta's illustrations.
I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime's main trailer confirms the January 5, 2024, release date
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024 (which happens to be Manners Day), the official website and X (formerly Twitter) account for I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime shared the main trailer to reveal the January 5, 2024, release date.
Broadcast details have also arrived, according to which, I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime will air every Sunday, from 10 pm JST, starting January 5, 2024, on Tokyo MX. The series will also air on BS Fuji, from 12:30 am JST, starting January 9, 2024.
The latest promotional clip showcases Leticia's plight as she has to go through a disciplined and strict routine to become more princess-like. Besides Leticia and her fiance, Clark, the PV features Nadir, Clark's aide and Leticia's brother, and Brianna, the daughter of a baron who is seeking a wealthy groom.
According to the short video, Wataru Hatano has joined the voice cast of this anime as Nadir, while Yuuki Saito lends her voice to Brianna. The PV highlights the characters voices of these two new characters. The anime stars Jun Fukuyama as Clarke and Haruka Shiraishi as Leticia.
Notably, I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime will hold a special stage at the Animate Girls Festival 2024 (AGF2024) on Saturday, November 9, 2024, and Sunday, November 10, 2024, where Yuuki Saito, Jun Fukuyama, and Haruka Shiraishi will be present.
Besides the PV, the official staff has shared a key visual for I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime. The illustration depicts Leticia's fiance, Clark, embracing Leticia from behind, with Nadir and Brianna witnessing the moment from the background.
Details regarding the theme songs have also arrived. Jun Fukuyama, who stars as Clarke in this rom-com anime, has performed the opening theme song, Kimi to Shika Koi Shinai. On the other hand, DIALOGUE+ has sung the ending theme, Alibi na Curtesy.
Shinobu Tagashira is both designing and directing the anime at EMT Squared studios, with Tomoko Kanemaki as the series composer. Yuuki Hayashi and Naoyuki Chikatani are enlisted as music composers. Pony Canyon is in charge of the music production. Hozumi Goda is the sound director, while Nanami Yamawaki is the director of photography.
About the anime
Based on Izumi Sawano's light novel series, I Want to Escape from Princess Lessons anime follows Leticia, who has been receiving a strict princess education since she was betrothed to her fiance, Prince Clarke.
However, Leticia wants to lead a free life and thus wishes to break off her engagement. On the other side, Clarke is smitten with her and wants to marry her. As such, the anime will explore a unique love story between Leticia and Clarke.
