Monday, June 17, 2024, saw Bandai Namco Filmworks officially confirm that I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince season 2 was on the way, immediately following the first season’s conclusion. While an announcement graphic was released alongside the news, it didn’t share any additional details, nor were any revealed by Bandai Namco Filmworks beyond the second season’s production.

This includes release details for I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince season 2, which have yet to be touched on in any capacity by Bandai Namco Filmworks as of this article’s writing. However, it’s speculated that the series should return by the end of the 2025 calendar year with the start of its second television anime season.

I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince season 2 will serve as the continuation of the television anime adaptation of author Kenkyo na Circle and illustrator Meru’s original light novel series of the same name. The story first began as a web novel on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in October 2019 by Circle, with this format still ongoing today.

I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince season 2 officially confirms production, no other details

As of this article’s writing, it’s unclear what direction I Was Reincarnated as the 7th Prince season 2 will go in following season 1's conclusion. While Lloyd now has plenty of allies in the form of Tao, his siblings, Sylpha, and the Assassin’s Guild, it’s unclear if the series is building into some sort of major arc. That being said, fans can at least expect these aforementioned allies to be ever-present in the anime’s second season.

The first season premiered on TV Tokyo and BS NTV in Japan on April 1, 2024, with Crunchyroll streaming the anime internationally as it aired weekly. The anime stars Makoto Koichi as Lloyd, Fairouz Ai as Grim, Lynn as Sylpha, Akira Sekine as Tao, Rie Takahashi as Ren, Shun Horie as Albert, Yuya Hirose as Dian, Akane Kumada as Alieze, and Eriko Matsui as Shiro.

Jin Tamamura directed the first season at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab. R.O.N composed the music for the first season, while Naoki Tozuka handled the script, series composition, and art management in the first season. Yuuichi Abe was the action director, while Mai Ono served as the color key artist. Yuki Yano took charge as the compositing director of photography and finally, Ryo Tanaka was the sound director at Ai Addiction.

Yosuke Kokuzawa and original light novel illustrator Meru launched a manga adaptation based on Circle’s web novels in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app in 2022. Kodansha most recently published the 15th compilation volume in Japan on April 9, with the 16th set to begin shipping on August 7. Of these 16 planned volumes, 11 have been translated into English with a 12th imminently releasing.
