Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Stage Play reveals castings of Yuta, Gojo, and more: Everything we know so far

Jujutsu Kaisen 0's highly anticipated stage play adaptation has recently announced its new visual, performance dates, and extended cast list. The news comes off as an unexpected surprise as the Jujutsu Kaisen manga is to end its series run in the pages of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump.

Yuki Okoshi has been cast as the protagonist Yuta Okkotsu along with Ryosuke Miura as Satoru Gojo. Here is everything we know so far about the upcoming Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Stage Play.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Stage Play will feature a live band and is based on the work of the prequel by Gege Akutami. Apart from Yuki Okoshi and Ryosuke Miura, other main cast includes the likes of Ayara Takatsuki, playing Maki Zenin, Inumaki Toge by Kaedema Sadamoto, and Panda by Takeshi Terayama.

Rika Orimoto will be portrayed by Yune Sakurai as the childhood friend to Yuta. Moreover, there are other assistant actors including Joel Shohei as Miguel; Yuzuka Ide plays Miko Yokoba; Miki Yagi will enact Nanako Kobo; Minami Chisato will portray Manami Suda; Kai Kitamura plays Laru, while Kohei Shiota will play Toshihisa Neki.

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 stage play is directed by Kensaku Kobayashi, with the script penned by Kohei Kiyasu.

There will be two major performances, including in Tokyo's Galaxy Theater from December 13 to 29, 2024, and in Osaka's Sky Theater MBC on January 18-19, 2025. As a special gift for the fans going to the performances in Tokyo, they will have special photo spots based on Jujutsu Technical College, and they will receive character-themed cards on December 24.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel for the main action of Jujutsu Kaisen. It revolves around Yuta Okkotsu, a high school student possessed by the spirit of his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto. When Rika dies in a tragic accident, her spirit develops into a strong malevolent cursed entity that profoundly harms the people surrounding Yuta.

Afraid for the safety of other people and himself, Yuta is taken to the care of Satoru Gojo, a jujutsu sorcerer, who allows him to attend Tokyo Jujutsu High, where he learns how to control his powers.

At Jujutsu High, Yuta meets fellow students Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda, who help him grow stronger. On the other hand, Suguru Geto seeks to get Rika's power to destroy non-sorcerers. Yuta must confront Geto and face his past to protect his new friends and find peace. The story sets the stage for the events in the main series.
