Friday, November 1, 2024, saw the official staff announce the production of Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai anime, based on Taro Yuri's eponymous manga series, with a teaser visual. However, no pertinent details, such as the anime's release date, cast, staff, or production studio were revealed.

The official staff has also shared a celebratory visual and comment from the author. Shinchosa's Kurage Bunch website has been serializing Taro Yuri's manga series since April 2022, with five volumes published thus far. The manga's sixth volume is slated to be released on November 9, 2024.


Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai anime gets officially confirmed for production with teaser visual

The official X (formerly Twitter) account for Taro Yuri's horror manga series confirmed on Friday, November 1, 2024, the production of the Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai anime. The television anime series hasn't received a release date yet. Additionally, essential information concerning the cast, staff, or the production studio will be disclosed in the future.

The teaser visual for the Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai anime shows a children's park in the evening, where Kaya appears holding a flower ring. Interestingly, the illustration depicts a few ghostly avatars behind Kaya. The visual also has taglines in Japanese, according to which, the adults don't know Kaya's secret yet.

Moreover, Taro Yuri, the original mangaka behind the work, has shared a drawn illustration and comment to commemorate the anime adaptation's news. The celebratory visual features Kaya at the center, smiling. Besides her, the visual contains a few manga panels, featuring the ghosts from the original work.

Taro Yuri's comments are added in the visual itself. The author's comments in Japanese read as the following when translated into English:

"Thanks to the support and efforts of readers and everyone involved, this has been turned into an anime! I can't believe it! Thank you so much."

Additionally, the author has told the audience to look forward to the next update.


About the anime

Although the staff hasn't revealed an official synopsis for the horror anime yet, Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai anime will explore the narrative written by Taro Yuri. The story is set in a kindergarten, where Kaya has become notorious for being a problem child.

She has her teacher, Chie-sensei, who watches over her actions. One day, Kaya gets into trouble, when she pushes away her friend on the swing. Eventually, Chie discovers Kaya's hidden ability to see spirits. As such, the anime will explore Kaya's interesting life, where she will interact with various ghosts.
