Fans were deeply upset by the announcement, as it didn't contain anything related to season 3. Notably, fans have been expecting a sequel for a long time now. The previous installment, titled Noragami Aragoto, premiered in October 2015.

While there's enough source material to cover a third season, the official staff has yet to green-lit it. Understandably, fans expressed their disappointments on social media, since they believed the 10th anniversary would bring the desired news.

"why do i even get my hopes up anymore" - A fan said."
"So it wasn’t season 3? Why are they taunting bruh" - Another fan expressed their disappointment."
"Ppl are expecting way too much, it'd be a surprise if they announce the continuation or a remake at this point, why are ppl not getting it?" - A fan observed.
"Honestly as a die-hard Noragami fan I highly doubt they would make season 3 with the series over. Afterall it was because of no season 3 and the manga hiatus that killed most discussion and traffic of this series." - A fan said.

Undoubtedly, the announcement has left fans disappointed, as they wanted to see their beloved delivery God, Yato, and other characters in action again. That said, the 10th-anniversary projects include some fun activities and beautiful illustrations. As for season 3, fans might have to wait slightly longer for such an announcement.
